stored for winter
Well folks, we put the camper away until next year.  So, the plan is to save money this winter and come spring be able to finish it in one go.  We want to camp in it next summer.  I just recently found out that a friend of mine has an old Jayco pop-up that he wants to restore.  My wife chuckled that…

Beer and Antifreeze
« on: September 09, 2008, 11:09:08 PM »
I can't help but to tell you a story about beer and antifreeze.  I went to a job interview about 2 weeks ago and my check gauges 'IDIOT' light came on when only 2 miles away from the office.  Temp was really really high.  I went to pull over into a parking lot and POW! antifreeze all over the place.  After a few choose words,Angry I looked under the hood and the upper hose blew off but didn't brake.  I replaced the hose and had to fill the radiator... the only thing I had was an ice chest from flounder fishing the day before.  I drained the water first, then a few small bottles of spring water and then added about 9 or 10 beers,Cold Beer washed my hands, put my dress shirt and tie back on and got my job offer. Big Smile I started yesterday! Man, I could have really used a beer after that one.

I hope the cops don't pull you over and give your TV a breathalyzer test Cold Beer. They'll take it in for DUI.

Ya could have used that beer....

But you went and poured them into the radiator. What the hell!! Question

Actually, Alcohol is a good Antifreeze in the Winter time. I'm not so sure on it's Boil Over Protection, but it must have worked out OK for ya. What a heck of a way to land a new Job.

Congrats!

Now the question is... Will you flush it out and put actual antifreeze back into it? Laugh Out Loud

Congrats on the new job!

Congrats on the new job...and pay homage to the 'mother of invention'!  I've heard of 'recycled' beer being used in radiators Shock

Not alcohol abuse.  What it is is 9 or 10 beers gladly sacrificing themselves so that he could get a job, enabling him to adopt many many more of their kind.

Seems to me there was a similar situation in an episode of M*A*S*H. But this involved Klinger, Potter, a sniper, a case of wine for Winchester, and a dry jeep...
