Starcraft Wiring
« on: May 12, 2009, 06:57:14 PM »
Can anyone tell me the wiring diagram for a 76 Starcraft?  There is a red, green, brown, and orange wire going to the outside fuse box. Also there is a white and green wire going into camper box but I dont know where they originated from. I tried to hook it up but nothing worked.

I have a manual for a starcraft (73?) but the colors are all wrong

I will check I believe I have the complete repair manual direct from Starcraft.  I had a 76 but I ended up lossing my storage  over the winter.  I will let you know tomorrow if I find it.

I would use a 12V battery and a 12V test light to ring out the running lights. Hook the neg to the camper frame. The one at a time hook the running light to the battery positive.  At the light clip the test light to the frame and probe the wires to find the one  with power

shoningram I have a 73 starcraft would you be willing to share what you haave with me. I am going to be redoing my trailer and could really use the information on wiring it. I can only offer this to help you which I saw on another post a guy name Bob works for Starcraft. (260) 593-2550 is their phone number. He is suppose to be very good and helpful with older starcraft. Might be a good idea to give him a call and see if he can help.

A Google search for "trailer tail light wiring" will bring up the standard trailer light wiring.

Good luck!

Can't help with Starcraft-Specific wiring, but the converter (not inverter) and other wiring is fairly universal in popups.

First question - are your lights and other 12V stuff working when you are plugged into shore power?  If so, then you can used a 12V test probe to figure out which wires go where.  You should have a 115V  AC line that gets plugged into your househould power......don't probe this with the tester!!!!

With a rig as old as yours, the converter should have a switch that goes between Off, Battery, and Converter.  This switchs the 12V output of the converter to off, from an onboard battery if you have one, and getting power from the converter itself.

Using the probe, you should be able to identify the one or two 12V output lines that run to your lights, furnace, water pump.  There might be a pair of wires that run up to a battery on the tongue?

If you have wires that look old, chewed, or otherwise damaged, then replacing them is certainly a good idea.  You can do this by simply powering things down and replacing the damaged sections.  You can get an assortment pack of 12V wiring at an auto parts store to keep your colors.

Hi, I am a newbie to this site. I have  79 Starcraft Galaxy. My husband would like to know if anyone has the wiring schematics. I bought my pop up 2 years ago. 4 days before we went on our a 3300 mile road trip. It needed a lot of work then. We did it with the bear necessities.  We're going out again after the 4th of July. It would be nice to have a few more things working properly. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Which wires are you referring to?  There are brake & marker light wires, and interior lighting / furnace / fridge wires, etc.

I have a 1976 manual. Are you still looking for a wiring diagram? I'll scan and email if you like.
