Dog Fence for camping
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:53:26 PM »
Hello. Does anyone use a dog fence or any other containment option when camping.  A few weeks ago we were in Hershey PA and one of the campers had a small 2-3 foot high plastic fence all around her whole camper.  This allowed her 3 dogs to run aroun without being on a leash or being confined to a small area.  Not sure if anyone has experience with these or not.  Any information would be helpfull.

Thanks.

Yep... we have 3 small dogs, and DH fences in our CG every time! It works great! Here's a pic....

The fence goes all the way around.

The fence that we use we got at Lowe's. It's 2 ft vinyl covered wire, and DH bought some steel posts and he just drives em through the fence all the way around.

you can also get whats called an ex-pen or a puppy play pen.  The panels come 4 at a time and are made to be added to. eventually you can have it as big as you like. Petsmart or any other well stocked pet supply store will carry them. You can also get different heights depending on how tall your pets are. You can also get one wilth a top in case any of your animals try to jump out. Doctors Foster and Smith catalog on-line has them also. All us people at the dog shows use them regularly. Put it away from your PUP or right up next to it.

I have 2 sets of 8 panels that are 3 feet tall and they containe my 4 little one's just fine. They are light weight and  unfold and fold up like an accordian. I put their own little tent and their beds in it and they are "Happy Campers". They even have their own instant shade canopy that goes over it all.
