Need to replace power converter
« on: May 14, 2010, 04:41:02 PM »
Help!!  We need to sell our 1995 Jayco pop-up and the Power Converter by Carson
Model No. CP-10FK-2 needs to be replaced.  It buzzes really loud and gets very warm to the touch.  Before we put it for sale we need to replace the converter.  Does anyone know what compatible converter would fit because it looks like the Carson Company doesn't make these converters anymore?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  We live in RI and the camper is in very good condition if anyone out there is looking for one.

Good suggestions from Rabird. I have the WFCO 8725, 2 years with no problems.....
If you are selling and don't want to put a lot of money into it AND you're comfy with ebay:

Thank you so, so much for the information.  The price of the ebay converter is great and I hate to spend too much money on one if I'm selling the camper!!
Thanks again.....

Cyndy,
If you buy the one on ebay or even a WFCO you will need to get circuit breakers for them also, usually about 10-20 dollars extra.
The only one I know of that you don't need to puchase them separate is a Parallax 6730. Good converter but much more expensive.......
