Due to problems getting my trailer onto my drive (ie rubbing on high spots on the drive) I had my starcraft 3612 raised by 4". I took it in to the garage that usually services my vehicles.
They researched what was entailed in lifting a trailer with torsion bar suspension and the end result was a t…

I am in the beginning stages of purchasing my first pop up. I'm looking at a 1998 Coleman by Fleetwood Utah model that is in good condition. My only problem is that I can't find out any info in this unit online. It almost seems like I have found out the only one (lol). My main concern is how much the unit weighs. Owner claims that it weighs 1800lbs but he's not 100% sure. I've looked high and low for a placard on or in the unit with the info I need but I can't seem to find one. I would like to find out as much info about it as I can(manuals, tips, etc.). If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the help in advance.

Specs are for a 99 model but should be close . Don't forget you need to add all the extra weights , A/C , Hot water heater etc etc.

Look at the roof very closely!  Search these forums on ABS roofs.  I have a 2000 Utah and love it!

Coleman/Fleetwood had the knack of changing model names quite often. Will be just about the same camper but with another name. NADA does not show a Utah model for that year. However, for the 2000 model year the Utah's base vehicle weight was 2497 (includes the tongue weight), with a GVWR of 3250 lbs.

Owner manuals and brochures are in owners manual section.
Here is a link to the 99 Brochure which shows 2400 lbs as the base weight.

But , as pointed out that is with no accessories.
Also, that may have been introduced as a mid year 1998, so it wouldn't be in early catalogs.

Check inside the cabinet doors and you may find a facsimile of the sticker that would have been on the outside of the pup when it was new.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. Although, I went through years 87-2000 and none of those campers looks like the one I'm interested in. This camper clearly states on the sides that it is a Coleman by Fleetwood and the Utah model. Am i incorrect in thinking that this should be stated on the title. I'm going back on Saturday with my wife to look at it again. The owner said that their was some writing on the hitch of the trailer but couldn't make it out. Anyone have an idea where the info plate would be?

Every title I've looked at (and that's more than the avg. guy) list the yr, make, and model of the vehicle. On my Bayside, there's a decal listing the VIN # as well as the axle & wt. ratings. It's located near the front, drivers side. Underneath that on the frame there is a riveted stamped piece of metal with the VIN #. Read this to interpret the code.

I've read that on the older models, it was put on the hitch or frame. FWIW, I've seen it the VIN welded on the frame of 60s-70s mobile homes.

Ditto on checking the inside of the cabinents.

Make sure you compare the Title VIN with that of the trailer.  It is important to find a VIN on the trailer.  Usually it will have the year/model and weights.  The plate on my Utah is on the driver side frame forward of the dinette slide out.

I went back today to try and find out some more info. I searched high and low for any info on how much this thing weighs. No luck. I did manage to get the owner to look for the title and it's not a 98 it's a 1995 Utah. When I looked at the brochure on this site, this model is not listed. Now that I know what model I'm dealing with, I was able to get a good value off the NADA website. My main concern before I make an offer is to find out if I can pull it with the 3500lbs my vehicle can tow. Thanks again for all the help.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the help. After 2 days of googling the wrong info, I got the correct info and everything came together. The pop-up does fall right where I want to be weight wise. Now I just have to get the seller to budge on his "very firm" price. Kind of hard to put a value on something when you are advertising it with the incorrect year. Thanks to everyone for all the help. This is going to be my 1st source of info for this camper (hopefully) or the next one I come across.
