BedWedgies
« on: September 03, 2011, 11:28:49 PM »
Larry Crabb (EV2) has seen a need and has created the solution. BedWedgies. made from high-quality cast aluminum, these are the solution to your broken plastic bed rail slider ends on many models of Coleman and Fleetwood pop-up campers.

The Problem
The problem is an under-engineered plastic part from the original manufacturer.

Once the beds are extended and supports are installed, some of the weight of the bed (and its occupants) is transferred to the rail ends. The result is that the OEM rail end eventually fails. When it fails and eventually falls off, the aluminum bed rail end is then exposed and could snag or tear the canvas enclosure.

The Solution
Replace those broken and poorly-engineered plastic rail ends/wedges with the popupmods.com BedWedgies™!

BedWedgies™ are made in the USA from high-quality cast aluminum and come with a lifetime warranty! Replace those OEM plastic ends once and be finished with the job for good. The best part is that  the cost of a set of OEM plastic ends which will likely fail again in the near future.

Why Buy?
  • OEM parts difficult to find and getting more difficult (and expensive)
  • Replaces Coleman part 4754-4821 bed slide wedge
  • Replaces Fleetwood part (info to come)
  • Cheaper and easier than replacing the inferior OEM parts twice
  • High-quality cast aluminum
  • Made in the USA
  • Lifetime warranty

I got my aluminum bed slide wedges before the OEM parts failed.  I'm glad I did, after pulling off the OEMs I could see where they were already starting to fail.  The one on the road side rear was a pain to remove/install, but with the new aluminum wedges I won't ever have to do it again.

A sound investment and a bargain even for double the price.

I ordered and got mine installed except for one, which was a bit difficult to get to.  Had to take the pup to the dealer for something else had them install it.  They were very interested in these as well.

Thanks again, Larry, you rock!!

Anyone have any suggestions for replacement tips for the other end of the bed poles? (The round end with the "nipple".  I have a friend who has a 1999 Coleman Bayside and they have a "nipple" tip broken on a bunk pole).

Karen -  I got a replacement of the 'C' hook for a bed hook for my '03 Bayside from PPL RV.  You might try them.

I got my wedgies and think they are well worth it.  I have installed two of four--still waiting on the inevitable failure of the remaining two plastic slide wedges.  Thanks Larry for coming up with such a great idea!  Long live Coleman!

Had an OEM break on my last trip and ordered a set of Wedgies as soon as I got home.  Installed them today.  They're great!

Hmmm...I was interested, until I saw the pricetag!  I appreciate the ingenuity and the time and effort it took to design and produce these things, but $80 for 4 of them?  You're talking to a guy who patrols Goodwill and Craigslist to save a $20 bill here and there and camps in a popup rather than paying for a cabin....when you get down to the neighborhood of $10 a piece, I'll bite.  No offense meant...maybe I'm a cheapskate.
