Does anyone have a theme for decorating in camper?
« on: July 05, 2006, 06:08:28 PM »
Just wondering a silly question.  I am going to make curtains for my (new to me) PUP.  I'm going with Americana (navy, maroon, and creme).  I've found tablecloths at Big Lots in this theme, serving tray, and went to Dollar Store and got red and blue plastic cups, utensils, plates, bowls, and plastic storage container for all.  Does anyone else have some kind of theme or colors they have inside their camper?  Is this silly?? Any other ideas of things that I might could get or use to touch up inside of camper with these colors.  I thought about maybe redoing cushions, however, I don't want to mess them up totally.  How hard is it to cover cushions with fabric or something in my color scheme?

Just finished redoing the curtains in our '02 starcraft.blue, cream &rust is cushion pattern.
Hubby wanted rustic cabin look!
Used 4 rust color queen size flat sheets, gave me the top valance(cut the top of sheets with hem)and with laying out the curtains from the PU was able to cut out all the panels needed.Kept the thermal curtains and just sewed the fabric around the sides.Bought 2 light weight blankets in light rust and sewed a 50X60 panel in the center of each of a print of wild life ie:deer, eagle, bear.for both the beds.
Hubby is very happy with results.
It seems to be my grown up way of having a doll house to decorate...lol

My Niagara has a lot of green....green curtains for the most part, so my dishes are the Corelle with the green ivy (forgot the name), and I've found some flat green placemats, table cloth, etc.  My dishtowels are also green, and I have a few throws for the sofa - also green.  Green is not my favorite color, but this does look nice.

I just bought some sheets and materials that would co-ordinate with the original curtains that were in good shape.  Inexpensive sheets from walmart give you a lot of material to cut up and work with! For Little Bit's end of the camper, I used a butterfly bed-in-a-bag and matching rug set we had from a long time ago. Photos are in the webshots album.

Good luck on the decorating, it sounds like you have a great start and I'm sure it's going to look awesome when you're finished.  Make sure you post pics!

I would like to do ours in an wildlife theme. I like bears and we have the bear flannel sheets for winter. Now you guy have me wanting to change the entire camper to a bear theme!

Anyone have any pics of the inside themes? Would love to see them.

I don't even have a PUP yet and I'm dreaming about decorating it. :) I think a forest/woods theme. Greens and browns.

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota
Looking for the right PUP for me & my pup (Chihuahua)

well, to get my husband to even consider us getting a popup, I blurted out, what about a camper divided? Michigan/Michigan State? He instantly got excited about it and within a week we had a camper!  So far we have our bumper stickers, one M and one S, and we have our M and S tacky lights, and my sister is making us M and S quilts for the beds!  He made us a sign with our name on it that shows a camper divided on it so everyone knows what our theme is.  Oh yes, our camper key also has an M and an S keychain on it. Im sure there will be more to come!

OK. I love this topic.  We decorate our camper and it's a blast.  Our curtains, bedding, etc. is all the original.  The camper is decorated with a hawaiian theme complete with sand color outdoor rug, tiki head string lights, palm tree sign, 2 ceramic birds, hawaiian lie around the vanity, bambo place mats, pineapple table cloth, tiki torches, 12v margarita blender and a few other things.

Well, we don't have a theme for our Aliner other than the one that matches our hom: Ma and Pa Kettle. I suspect that if we were to 'themize' it we would go with a turtle motif. Not only do we collect turtle figurines (some 300 to date) but it seems appropriate in the sense that we take our little house with us wherever we go.

We live near Callaway Gardens at Pine Mountain GA.  There they have a Butterfly House that we visit regularly. When we decided to paint the interior of our Palomino, my wife stenciled Butterflies on all the cabinet doors.  We also put up Butterfly lights on our awning.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this thread. I was kicking around the idea of doing up the PUP in a nice theme, but I just didn't have any ideas and inspiration. Well I do now!! Can't wait to pick DBF's brain about what he might like and get started. I have a few extra sheets that we don't use that have been earmarked for new curtains. But before I get carried away, I'm going to remove all the cushion and bed covers to wash them. The PU came with a nice pretty blue theme, that I may just continue with. I'll keep you posted and hopefully get some pictures up too,

I have a bear theme in my pu. Not overdone, but just enough- a couple of bear decorated rugs that coordinate with colors of camper(royal blue, burgundy, tan, hunter green),a couple of welcome signs with bears, and a couple of teddy bears(unbreakable)one decorated in Harley gear. I have a picture frame with bears too, just trying to find that right pic to put in it first. It all looks pretty cool, I must say. It's fun to have a theme, it gives you something to keep your eyes peeled for!

If it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger!!                        Heather Cool

We got childrens, and of course they love pirates.. so DW keeps the original shades and pillows, then we add flags and bed sheets with caribbean sea themes and pirate flags.
