stored for winter
Well folks, we put the camper away until next year.  So, the plan is to save money this winter and come spring be able to finish it in one go.  We want to camp in it next summer.  I just recently found out that a friend of mine has an old Jayco pop-up that he wants to restore.  My wife chuckled that…

The sun is brutal, you may need bunk end covers (gizmos, they call them), to cover and reflect the sun on the bunk ends. Not sure what BTU you will have (13,000?), but you may be ok, especially at night/evening/morning, if you can find shade you may want to put it in it. That mid-day sun on canvas makes it hot, and the AC has a hard time keeping up.

You may also want to bring a fan to help with circulation.

I dont know what kind of A/C you have, I dont even know what kind I have, but heres what I do know.  Mines works so well that if I keep it on high long enough it will actually freeze itself.  Just turn it on maybe 2 hours before you think youll need it and I think you will be fine!  Have fun!

Ours works great in the NC heat.  Make sure you have the ac on high and just turn it to the desired temp.  If you have it cranked all the way to cold it will ice up. Especially if it is on low A/C.  Keep it on high and you should be fine.  We use our sleeping bags in the summer it gets so cold in our camper.    [:D]  Ours just has knob settings of low fan high fan low ac high ac then it has a temperature knob that is just colored red to blue.  We just keep it almost to full blue and on high AC.  We had it on low and learned that it ices up if not on high.  Happy Camping and hope you keep cool.

102 with no shade will be hard to cool in the heat of the day. A extra fan will help for sure. Once the sun starts to go down the a/c will chill you out just fine. If you can rig up some kind of shade with tarps it will really make a differance.
