I guess I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am new to the forum.
My wife and I are tent campers taking the step up.

I sold my boat recently (the second one I had restored) because we have a new baby boy, now 17 months, and another on the way. Boating and diapers are tough on long trips. Time to do more camping!

With little ones coming on the trips now storage in the [o!!!o] has become an issue so we have made the jump to a pop up and are very excited. I have purchased an old Coleman in need of much TLC. The lift mechanism is good and the trailer frame is in good shape. It looks like a good base to me.

The project will start early spring. The new baby is due late February so I will have my project in the garage on those frequent nap times. [SNZ]

    Tell me what you think.

    Congrats on several fronts!

The Coleman looks pretty sweet to me! A little bit of cleaning, a few patches here and there, and it looks like it'll be campable. I highly recommend going to The Portal's home page and clicking the Manuals link off to the right. Download a copy of the owner's manual and the Lift System Repair manual at the bottom of the same page. You'll find that lift system manual very handy when it comes to lubing and maintaining your lift system.

Enjoy your new pup, and keep us posted on your progress. And remember that we LOVE pictures! [:D]
