"Normally" they measure from where a trailer would most likely go. Across from the firepit or how it would get backed in.

We have had to put the cord under the trailer in order to have the right amt of cord and we had over 150'. It was stupid crazy.

Keep an eye on princess auto, they usually have them on sale late april early may.

I have used all 100ft 1x50ft and 2x25 plus the 30ft attached to the trailer just to reach the power post, one time even included running it under the trailer and breaking bush to get to the power post..

    Shhhhh...
    Hey, Jenn! Here’s the plan...
I distract Craig while you ‘borrow’ one of his many extension cords. Problem solved! :D

Just a couple of weeks ago I found 2 x 25 footers (10 gauge, 30 amp ends) on kijiji. The guy drew too much through them using electric heaters while winter camping. He melted the connectors where he had them plugged together in the middle of the run. He gave me them for $30 for the pair. The connectors on the far ends were still in perfect condition. So I picked them up, brought them home, cut out the 2 middle melted connectors, attached them permanently together, and bingo, I have a 50 ft for $30. I wasn't really looking for anymore cords, but when I saw that deal, I couldn't pass it up. So I now have 155 feet of #10, 30 amp extension cords, plus 40 ft attached to the trailer. I think I'm done as far as cords go!

LOL well, I picked up my pup on Tuesday and when I went to get it they told me they weren't able to get the backup camera installed so they refunded my money...so I bought a 50' cord. So I have 75' of 30 amp cord available to me :) If I need more, I'm screwed :p

They also didn't get me the screen tent I ordered, the travel door is bent, and my sink was falling apart. Let's just say Tuesday was an ordeal...I need to go camping now.

What I'm saying, my fine feathered friend, is that I will take a stab at fixing anything. I've fixed these things before and have been accused of electrocuting only 4 people, so thats not too bad. If you would like, I'll teach my wiring technics to your favorite recipient of the family a-hole hockey player of the year award. Just let me know.

I was actually thinking (on and off) of selling one of my cords, but it won't be one of my fixed ones. Nobody will buy a cord that is wrapped in tape because they can't trust what I've done under the tape. It's all good, but they don't know that, and won't want to pay for it. If I did sell one, it would be a store bought 25 foot one with factory ends. But for the $40 I'd get for it, I may as well just hang onto it in case someone needs to borrow it sometime. I lent that one to a stranger for about a week last year up at Bonnechere. He was from out of province and didn't know how much length of cord he needed, I said 'no problem, here ya go, no charge'. We all like to take care of each other. I was going to drop if off at Pat's a few days ago so that Algonquingirl could use it at KoTS, but she made a deal on a 50ft I guess.

Well now you have enough cord to plug into Mel's power post and blow her fuse with your infernal ice machine... lol.

Well....it was an adventure but I backed her into my very small driveway by myself. If I can do that on my very narrow street, then I should have no issues in the campgrounds :D

Right.. until the tree's, bushes and mud come into play :D.. Don't worry half the entertainment for others is watching new persons backing their trailers up into spots... Although many times someone will come along and offer to help (after they have had a chuckle).. I remember at the second rally when a pick up got stuck on the site behind Mel and a mini van got stuck beside Mel's site..:D and when the truck got stuck across from Mel's site when trying to leave.. :p Hmmmm
