What would he miss, electrically, in VT?
That's an excellent question. I think nothing of not having electricity but he doesn't like having to think about conservation of water and running out of battery. I'm hoping the solar panel I just bought works well enough to cover the battery issue. The water thing he has just gotten spoiled by having a shower and toilet in the camper. Never had either of them when we camped in a tent. If it were me and I could be there on Tuesday, I'd be all in but Jeff didn't grow up camping and I think deep down, this is really something he does because I want to do it.
I see. It's not that he doesn't have something he would have had otherwise. It's the stress of "what if".
Well, power won't be an issue. Between solar and generators, that's covered. Fresh water? Well, that could be a concern if he showered every day and washed dishes recklessly.
Good for him stepping outside his comfort zone to do family stuff though.
We could run a suction pump from the river to your tank....
Or a few lengths of hose from the spigot to your camper.
There is always a solution...
Btw, Did someone say beer?
He sounds a lot like my wife!
There are some of us that bring our portable dump tanks, and extra water tanks. So keeping the camper going will not be a problem. I usually have to refill the water once, and dump the grey tank once during my stay. It's no big deal, It's just something you need to do up there.
Sometimes I call him Tammy 2.0.
I'll work on convincing him....but if he starts getting grumpy about it, I'm not pushing it.
I have 200 ft of garden hose. We can refill him, no problem.
OK. But he's gonna have to put up with all the ball breaking he's gonna get. Sorry. Nature of the beast.
Oh he is going to love the new nickname.
I just read all these messages to Jeff. He’s not a fan of the nickname but the best ones are the ones you aren’t a fan of. (Good thing you don’t know his fraternity nickname....).
Oh and he said if we can get the solar panel up and running on our first trip to RI next month, he will consider coming up early. How early? I don’t know.
If he liked the nickname, it wouldn't be any fun!
Alright, now you know you have to tell us....
Yeah. I gotta hear it. Knew a guy a long time ago, we called him Uno. He only had 1 of something. He hated it.
Yeah, not gonna happen through me.
Nope just smart. I have to live with him after you Yoohoos go home.
what, exactly, is the equivalent male term for ‘mean girls’?
Good call, Steph!
I could tell you Pat, but that kind of language is not tolerated on this site.
