If you take the generator off the valve and open the valve and it gets fuel then your gen is probably clogged. Very carefully pull the cleaning rod out of the gen there is a spring and a cardboard tube in the gen. Pull them out and clean the spring. Carefully put it back together. Be super careful not to bend the wire on the rod. Once back together soak it with carb cleaner. Put gen back on the valve and recheck to see if you get fuel through the gen.

Edit: the generator is the brass rod sticking up off the valve the air supply tube is the steel ,tube that’s behind it on the piece you took off. The whole part is the burner assembly.

Just reread your prior post. With the burner assembly off you will not get a hiss just fuel squirting from the gen.if you get fuel then I say check the burner assembly, air tube and burner tubes( the tubes the mantles tie onto)to make sure they are clear. There are screens on the mantle caps that get clogged and insects like to build nests in the tubes. If you have an air compressor that will help greatly in clearing them. Also a bore brush from a gun cleaning kit.

Only advice I can give you is build shelves. These things breed like rats. And don’t think about single burner stoves .

A few more lanterns and 5 stoves (plus 1 I’m picking up tomorrow, my first European stove) have been added since this was taken.

Is the tank building pressure?...if not, there is check valve in the tank behind the pump that you can clean or replace. If it is building pressure, I would replace the generator.

Depends you can buys different cases for different lanterns. FYI the case by itself is worth $30 easy.

Yep, that case is easily a 30 buck item. I have a couple. The lantern is a 275. I have a few of them.

While there are a few of us here nuts about Coleman liquid fuel stuff, it's really not in high demand. I find it at flea markets all the time and have started passing up most of it, because after I bring it home, I can't unload it. I have advertised some nice pieces on CL and similar with not much interest.

i want one of the old style to use, thats not the disposable green can type.
i love my hurricane lanterns, but even those are prohibited during Texas burn bans.
consolidating packing- is the coleman gas suitable for hurricane lanterns?

the case is a keeper! i gave up on glass, went with screens. but now that i have a case...

    whoo hoo!
Nearby resale shop had a Coleman CL2 (model 288) for $15.
    It came home with me!
Other than cobwebs, in great shape for a 1985 gas lantern.
Determined to get one that works!

edit: new mantles, fresh gas. pumped it up & it lit on first try! WHOO HOO!

The 288 is a handy little lantern because it and it's case are compact.
