I will be camping at Davidson River Campground near Brevard, North Carolina in a couple of weeks. We camped at Table Rock State Park last spring and did a drive through of Davidson River on that trip. I'm looking for suggestions on things to do in that area; specifically hikes. A hike in the 5-10 mile range with wildflowers and a "cupcake" (waterfall, view, etc) would be ideal. Any suggestions on hikes or other things to do?

That's one of my favorite campgrounds - we've camped there at least a dozen times over the years, from tents to hammocks to campers. Speckhunter covered it very well - there are TONS of great waterfall hikes in that area.

Thanks for the replies. We had a great weekend at Davidson River. It is our new second favorite campground. We stayed in site 124 on the Hemlock loop. It was a huge, shady site. One of the best sites we have stayed in. We hiked to Twin Falls and to Moore Cove Falls. Twin Falls was a very nice hike. We also walked the trail along the river to town. We saw lots of wildflowers along this trail. Davidson River and Brevard definitely make the list of places to return to.

Sorry I missed this... You could stay around here for years and still not see it all....34 years and still finding new stuff to see.
