Dont forget to tighten the AC bolts

    Made a 847 mile trip to find the AC had shifted slightly and the inside valance was barely hanging on. A 5/16th socket on an extension and 8 additional screws later all was good. Didnt have the time or thread lock, but I'll definitely be adding thread lock to the bolts soon. FYI, this is the 2nd unit I've had come loose while traveling.

    Wow! Had no idea such things happened. Guess I'll be wiggling my AC unit now and then! Thanks.

    Good idea. I've tightened mine a couple of times in 4years

    Snugging down the four A/C bolts that secure the ceiling unit to the top unit is fine but if you find these bolts loosening repeatedly it's a sure sign the foam gasket affixed to the underside of the top unit has compressed excessively and should be replaced.
