I just bought a used thermos Grill 2 Go at a yard sale. Excellent condition but it's missing the grease catch or Oil Bottle if you will. Should I purchase the bottle so as to not let the grease and oil run off and all over the ground? What does everyone else use for catching grill run off?

Not sure of the design, but on my home grill I use a soup can and a coat hanger. If all the grease is directed to one drain location then try to suspend something under the hole to catch it.

Thanks for the Link YellowKayak, I was able to find the exact one for my grill on the same site.

    http://www.grillparts.com/charbroil/grill-2-go/grill-2-go-oil-bottle-kit/G2GOB?Product_ID=G2GOB&Category=&Action=&Brand=Grill%2D2%2DGo&Order_Flag=1&Model=&Quantity=1&Alert=0&Description=Grill%2D2%2DGo+Oil+Bottle+Kit

I just didn't think it was a good idea to let the grease/drippings fall onto the ground and all over the edge of my grill. It has the potential to be a horrible mess to get off of the grill and would probably attract some unwanted bugs. Plus I didn't want to leave a mess for the next campers in that CS

you might try the heavy paper cups for hot liquids. stuff a paper towel (wick) in it either before use or before the grease hardens and use it to start your next campfire just my [2C]

Did that with bacon grease, paper towels and a paper plate. Probably the best fire starter ever.

We cooked two pounds of bacon and I saved the grease in a soda can. I put it all in the fire in one shot. Went up like mad!!!

Curious...doesn't it stink when you burn used cooking oils or grease?? Or does it smell like what was cooked in it?

The newer gas grills don't have grease catchers.

As for our grease, we save it, and bring it home, especially bacon grease and give it to the dog.

I put a sheet of aluminum foil down under the bbq to catch any run off... makes for easier clean up and the grease can be used to help the fire later..

just stick a cast pan underneath and kill two birds with one stone, cook and season you cast at the same time
