I received a 1985 Viking PUP from a friend this weekend. It's in pretty decent shape, except for some water damage in the ceiling and a fragile, musty canvas. We'll have to replace that. I don't have any paperwork for it. It there some standard maintenance schedule out there that says how to use it? How often to lube the lift system, tighten the lug nuts... I don't want to neglect something that I just didn't know about. Thanks!

Welcome to the Portal from South Carolina. You may be able to search the Portal and find a manual for your camper.

congrats on the new to you camper. Do a search on this site, you might find what your looking for. A good rule of thumb I follow is seasonal maintenance. You also would probably want to put new barrings and tires as you don’t know how well they were taking care of. Trailer tires are really only good for 5 years from date stamp on tires. Despite the what it looks like.

Congrats on the new acquisition! Just a word of advice....do whatever it takes to make it legally yours with registration & tags BEFORE you dump a lot of money / time into it. Depending on where you live, it can be a monumental PITA to get registration & tags, especially where you don't have any paperwork on it. I would be a real shame for you to put all your time, effort, & money into getting it ready to camp, then have it sit for months, or even years, while trying to get it registered. I've been thru this...it can be a real headache. YMMV

Looks amazing for a freebie. Listen to Wynn and don't do anything until it's legally register in your name.
