Well I got my first pup and she’s up and going. It’s an 06 model flagstaff 228d garage kept with a cover and in amazing condition they even had every piece of paperwork that came with it. The canvas all looks brand new heat A/C toilet shower slide out dining table 3 burner stove the works! I’m super pumped and ready to take her out spent the afternoon today servicing the lift system and greased the bearings, and fixed the dumb water pump for the toilet
Congrats on the new pup & welcome from OKC.
what all places around here have you camped?
Many of the State parks. Lake Carl Blackwell. Black Kettle National Grasslands. Any area in particular interest you?
We are from just outside the metro (west) just looking for something close to us to get our feet wet for first trip. Wanting to do Roman Nose somewhere near the springs in a couple of weeks I think
Hmm. Local places west?
Lake Thunderbird (Norman) several different camp grounds, so so lake
Roman Nose (Watonga) pond as much as a lake, great golf course, mini-golf, stables, some hiking
Crowder Lake (Weatherford) only 5 tiny wedged together spots, tiny lake, nice nature trail
Red Rock Canyon (Hinton) close camping spots, good hiking, climbing
Ft Cobb (Binger) some spots close together, great golf course, nice lake.
Lake Carl Blackwell (Stillwater), busy on weekends, beautiful lake.
Thunderbird & Blackwell only places with large cities if you're concerned about forgetting something.
El Reno, Guthrie & OKC have multiple campgrounds, but they are more like sardines in a can than camping for my taste.
Happy to help however I can. You can pm me if you want. Steve
