I myself find that a pup is too intimate in size to be "intimate" with children onboard. They hear remarkably well, and sometimes awake to the slightest possible rocking and rolling of the camper. I just wouldn't do it. Go out to the TV and practice like you were teenagers again. LOL

When we camp, our kids crash so hard at night that nothing will wake them. Discretion is appropriate, of course, with anyone walking around outside. . .

It's sort of the same game when it's nap time at home! We have to be quiet with only 1900 square feet, so we're used to it.

Can you say duct tape!!!!!! Shock absorbers, and sound proofing matierla on all the walls....don't forget to put the sign out that says..."Ifs its a rockin, don't come a knockin!" If you want to take it one more step further, you can go around to all the neighboring campers and hand out ear plugs....now that will get some attention!!! LOL

Wow, This is like the third or fourth thread on this since I joined, We are a frisky bunch aren't we, Is that why they call it "pop-up" camping??? LOL
I don't even want to know about the duct tape suggestion. Being a newbie owner who actually hasn't gone "camping" yet, The only thing besides cough syrup for the kids I could think of is to find a shed or bathroom with a good lock on it. LOL again,

I can see I'm going to have to investigate this dilemma further, I'll be sure to take notes.

As a camping noob myself, I have to say my plan is to just forget "it". DW is NO fun in risky situations with the kids. She seems to think they have an idea what's going on. I think it's ridiculous to think they have a single clue, but what ever...

If opportunity presents itself with no kids around...well maybe, but I wouldn't drive myself crazy planning anything.

Geez, now I'm starting to not want to go camping...

Man, I hope she changes for both your sakes. Where theres a will, Theres got to be a way though. We will not turn down intimate time together. We find a way. The activities of the day and evening, usually leave us wanting to get close to each other at nite. Just nature. There is no way to get closer. Maybe you can get her motor going early in the day. I wish you luck.

BTTT, Someone has mentioned to me that turning in the bunk toward the inside of the camper may work "Better". Makes since being the the leverage the bunks have over the stablizers is side to side. Better make for the its chocked good though.

Somebody said "Bal Leveler". I use a hammer to drive my chocks under the wheels. I have never had a problem with them coming out. I don't see how a Bal Leveler can help. The bunks would have more leverage over anything at the tires than they do stablizers. Not saying it won't work, I just can't see how. Has it fixed the problem for you?

It can be done...trust me ;)

It helps to have the kids stay very active all day, hiking/running/etc. That way they crash hard. We pretty much know our kids sleeping habbits well enough to know when it can or can't happen.

Quietly!!! Run your kids REAL hard durning the day. Fill your kids with food give them a bath, turn on the TV or raido Put them to bed (on the opposite side of the camper!) sit outside with your mate for about 15 minutes and Bingo you have "alone time" for the rest of the night"! Just don't get to wild cause pop-up's do shake!! LOL! Oh make sure the curtains are closed in the camper as well as on the bunk. (oops!) Oh one more thing... Make sure they go potty BEFORE you have your alone time. Happy Camping!

Oh man that "Close the curtains" brings a memory back. 2:00am, DW had taken control. She was enjoying a ride. A noise outside caused her to open her eyes and turn her head to the right. She immediately dropped over on me while folding her arms in front of her. She said "There is a guy at the campfire across from us" I said "So" She said "I could see him. So he could see me too, Ya know". The curtain was only down 8 or 10 inches. We laughed as she zipped the curtain and we continued the ride.

I really dont think he saw anything, but her reaction was funny, though. I hope he wasn't listening close toward the end though.

She takes alot of care to ensure thecurtains are closed now. The sounds doesn't bother her. I guess its that "If you can't see them, They can't hear you" thing.

Thought it was funny and wanted to share it.

Re: how do you um "do it" in the popup with kids

My husband and I laughed and laughed at all the stories and suggestions. From the day we bought the pop-up we were trying to figure out how to "christen" it and the time presented itself after a long busy day with exhausted kids and a couple of beers around the campfire. Busy days outside, privacy curtains and bunk curtains and being very very quiet (and don't forget the beer - thats for me) adds to the excitement to not wake up the kids or fellow campers.

My 'kid' is a teen, so our solution is to pass when he's with us, or have him bring a friend and they sleep in their own tent.

But we also will go camping on our own sometimes - it's a chance to get some alone time without the kids!

An alternative if you have young kids - camp with friends - get adjoining sites. one night the kids have a 'slumber party' with your friends, next night, your friends kids join yours.
