I put mine in my Apache Roamer yesterday. Since, I have sliding windows, I simply cut a piece of foam board to fit as an insert for the hose. I will probably replace it with a piece of Lexan when I get a chance....I am also debating either cutting a hole in the floor or side of the trailer for a exhaust port.

Anyway, it wasn't hot here yesterday, but was 76. The camper was in the direct sunlight, though. I put the unit in and cranked it down. It got down to 63 in less than 2 hours.

That looks fantastic! Just make sure to wrap that hose with something because it can get VERY HOT, enough to where the radiant heat starts to warm it up a bit in the camper.

I'm so glad folks are getting this at such a steal, it makes paying double worth it...well, almost. ~grin~

Sharp install! That's some <s>cheap</s> inexpensive cooling. I'm glad this deal is working for some people. Good find, Cindy. You're getting some campers cooled down by posting that!

Score another happy family--my parents have been looking at getting a portable a/c for their upstairs bedroom that never gets quite cool enough from the elderly central heat and air unit. They returned from vacation on Wednesday and yesterday I convinced my mother to go and get the unit (rather than pay $2500 to follow the recommendation of the heating and air guy). She called me this morning from her chilly bedroom, saying she was wearing her fleece robe and her feet were freezing. She was very happy!

Thanks Cindy! August in Alabama is miserable without good A/C, though this year has been milder than most.

YEA!! I hope everyone who reads this post and needs a portable, gets their hands on one! You just can't beat that price! You're right, August in Alabama IS miserable and that portable saved our butts several times when the poor central AC just couldn't keep up.

I am so glad that I posted something that helped others on the portal. Ya'll have given me so much support, encouragement, and advice---I felt bad for never giving anything back and now I have (thanks to Circuit City) !!

If ya snoozed, ya losed (asking forgiveness in advance for pushing the grounds of grammatic license)

The price has actually gone <font color=red>UP</font id=red> on these units from $139 to $249

The price has actually GONE0 UP AGAIN on these units from the $139 Cindy told us about, to $249 a couple weeks ago, to $328.99!

Who would've imagined that A/C prices would go UP this time of year?? It makes NO sense to me.

I reiterate the thanks to CindyF for turning us on to such a good deal!

DANGIT! I can't believe they went up again even higher than what I paid! I't everywhere I checked too, not just Circuit City. The cheapest one I found was a 7,000 BTU at Walmart for $274, just abour double. Maybe in anticipation of the hurricanes and the need for portable A/C? I dunno, but it sure stinks.

All that I can say is that mine works great as we learned earlier this week while on a trip. It was well worth the 139 bucks. Even at $249, it is a bargain compared to some of the other units that I had looked at.

Gotta make you wonder if maybe the $139 price was a mistake, but since there was a limited supply, they honored it....then the sales volume triggered a factory order.

    LOL Doug!

You know Norfolk, I wondered the same thing. If maybe it was some kind of error. Or like you said, it may have been just a clearance thing since there weren't many but then the sudden rush on them took care of that.

Wow! I'm glad that I got one while the getting was still good. Once again, I cannot thank you enough for pointing out this deal.

Dh and I had actually never even heard of a portable air conditioner before. Neither had a lot of his friends who've been impressed with the price and how well the unit is working out for us in the pup.

It makes me mad that I kept saying "I'm going to go pick up a few spares" and never did. What a rotten procrastinator. I was going to keep a couple on hand so if someone on the portal needed one down the line and didn't live too far away, I could sell them one at the sale price instead of them getting gouged with the higher price. CRAP! <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Sad">

Sorry Melissa, I meant to put you are very welcome and I'm glad I could help out but I was busy self-flagellating and forgot ~grin~
