Do you have the old type analog thermostat ? If so you can upgrade to a digital thermostat for less than $20.00 (Wally World is where I got mine) the digital makes a big difference and is more accurate that the old analog,

You would be happier with a new one. (My Opinion) I rarely use my furnace because I do not usually boondock and have elec, then I use the ceramic heater

Yes, I keep one in my TT. I used to keep 2 in the PUP but dropped down to only one as the ceramic heaters got the unit to hot, they cost about $20.00 at most places and take up very little room.

Honeywell Digital at Wally World cost was $17.00, only need to hook up 2 wires to replace, uses 2 AAA batteries in the TStat

I did the t-stat change and loved it. Keeps the unit at a constant temp better than the analog t-stat.
