I am from Ohio. My husband and I purchased a 1995 Avalon in March and I have been cleaning it and buying things for it ever since! We used to tent camp when our 3 kids were little but now they are all off to college and my husband and I are taking our first vacation alone in almost 30 years. I have always wanted to go to Glacier National park, his idea was to sleep in the back of the truck in a tent...not happening! Maybe when I was 20 but not now! Any who... that is how I ended up with my pup. Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome from N/W Fl panhandle. Congrats on the NTU unit. I remember our first trip as empty nesters, years ago, it felt sort of funny not to have a crowd around but did not take long to really enjoy the peace and quiet :) also learning to cook for 2 took awhile to learn how to scale back on the groceries . Good Luck and
    have a great 2nd honeymoon.

    Love GNP..

If you prefer less crowds take a look at the west side, entering the park through Polebridge to the lakes.

We went to Glacier in 2010 and stayed in St. Mary CG. We were on site C108. Nice CG and being able to see the night sky from there is awesome!!

The route we took fro NJ was: Rt 80 out to Council Bluffs, IA then north on rt 29 to rt 90 west. The near Butte, MT take rt 15 north then onto rt 287, rt 89 then finally to rt 2.

That was how we went and had plenty to do along the way. If you fly fish then this route will take you thru Livingston, MT.

If anyone is going to the Yellowstone area - check out Chico Hot Springs, Montana, old time hotel with fantastic adult restaurant (two seatings), poolside grill, poolside bar, and the pools are fed from hot springs - what more do you need. We went there about 2 years ago, and will be going back in August this year.
