Hello all... I have been lurking and shopping for a new to me Hybrid for about a year and tonight we became the owners of a 2007 Shamrock 23B. It took awhile to find a used camper in our price range that was Bone dry. There is a lot of junk out there, but I think we are going to be happy. So a couple questions...

Tires.... Part of our deal includes 4 new tires. The dealer uses Westlake. I kept seeing in the forums that Carlisle tires are junk and replace them before taking any trips. What about Westlakes?

I need to replace the awning fabric. I think we can handle it ourselves even though it looks like a pain any recommendations on where to get the fabric?

Homemade end covers or PUP covers?

I am sure I will think of more questions but wanted to jump into the forum and say Hi

Welcome and congratulations!! Carlisle tires are very popular, not familiar with Westlake.... more than anything, check the overall condition of your tires and the date codes!

rvawningsmart for the awning material.. youtube how to change it, and get help from someone who has done it, they are pretty easy but the sping mechanism can seriously hurt someone if things are done wrong..

Tires, not sure on the name, but make sure there D or Better yet E rated for weight. Keep them properly inflated, dont run 70 MPH.
    Awning never done one'
PUGs.... We made ours from HD casualty blankets for about $35, have held up longer than I expected....
BUT...Will be getting SHW PUGs from Bob when they fail.

    Welcome from Oklahoma.
Tires: I had Carlisles for 5 years on my pup with no issues. ^^Yetavon. Go up at least 1 weight rating and keep them inflated to the max listed on the tire.
Awning material: I've bought this stuff at a local upholstery shop.
Good luck with your mods & maintenance.
