hey everyone, getting in the mindset of getting the pup ready for the season, can't wait until al that snow melts.
one of my outlets only works on one plug but not the other, I haven't been in the pup yet to play with it, but any ideas as to what could be the problem ?
is this normally fixable or should I shop for a new plug?
    as usual, thanks in advance

I would just replace the outlet if there's any question that part of it may be defective/shorted. Peace of mind.

Usually both outlets are tied together with a small strap or wire, then off to the next one. You will be better just to change the recp. but make sure the new one will fit as some for a unit are not as deep as others that are used for household use.

If you are saying only one outlet of a duplex receptacle is working then it's possible it was done that way on purpose. With power off remove the cove and see if the bar that connects the two receptacles is broken off with another pair of wires on the other outlet. If this is the case the other outlet is being supplied from another source. If the bars are intact forget what I said and do what they said above.

You mean they could be tied to different breakers (separate circuits)? Why would that be done? Not trying to be a jerk, just curious as to why someone would want to do that in a pup.

Could be several reasons. inverter power to one for reasons known to the person who did it. One outlet on a switched circuit the other not. Could be reasons someone wanted two separate outlets.

Or someone did it so the hair dryer and curling iron where on separate breakers so the breaker didn't trip all the time

Yes, this is my main concern when I wake up while camping in the woods.
