Break it down into the following:

Well, I'm guessing the station wagon took about 15 gallons of gas at .75/gal. The six pack cost $1.25. Like I said, I'm guessing! LOL!

Approximately .30per gal x just under 20 gallons+.60 cents/6 pack bottles of soda= 6.50 total at the gas station.

No idea what type of popup. [:(]

The Answer Is: $ 6.50, cash money!

    • Price Per Gallon: 32.9 cents per gallon
    • Total Gallons of Gas (Approximate): A Little under 18 gallons
    • Cost for a Six Pack of Soda (Mike, Carol and Alice didn't get soda): 60 cents

And the camper was a 1970 or 71 Bethany Camper.

The prices are based on various sources on the Internet which state the price of Gas and Soda in 1971. You got to figure Mike wouldn't let the tank hit empty before stopping for gas.

The winners are Erwin & Kunk35 for doing the math. The prises are you each get a PopUp Camper Window Decal. PM me your shipping info and I will get them out in the morning.

    And here's the episode:

And here's the trip. Three episodes broken down to twelve pictures.

Mike's really quick getting that camper setup.
And checkout the look Greg & Marcia are exchanging.

    And away we go.

This thing tows like it's not even there.

    Did we forget something?

On the road (three hours late)

Let's setup in this ghost town. What could be the worst that could happen?

Note that the bunk end is not setup. Don't try this at home kids.

Those Bethany Campers could really take a beating.

Quick pit stop for Bobby. The kid has the bladder of a hummingbird.

Wow, for 1971 that ranger is "HOT"!

I told you we should have made reservations!

And the Bradys head for home, never to use the camper again.

I hate how everyone steps on the tongue of the Pup, instead of over it, (or walking around) when they are parked at the gas pumps. I don't let anyone step on mine to scratch all the paint off and let the rust in. Also trip, slip, fall, break legs, rip wiring off.......

This episode was just on today. Made me sick...$6.50 for a tank of gas and sodas.
I also made other observations that I never had before. The car was sitting a little low in back but I'm sure it had more than enough power to tow with. That old Chrysler Station Wagon probably had a 440 under the hood.
