French Lick, Indiana.
I thought someone would have listed this one for sure.
Possum Trot, AR
This isn't along the same theme, but I was always angered by Townville, SC.
I mean, really... who were the creative geniuses involved in the name there? I guess Townvillecityburg was too long to paint on the water tower.
Townville... there's a place I want to do generic things in a nondescript manner!
I always get a kick out of Weed, CA.
Dick Lick Springs, Arkansas No idea on the origins, but I think I'd be grinning ear to ear when I addressed an envelope!
Sadly, this is from a hoax picture that still gets spread around the Internet. There is no such place. The Arkansas Highway Department even released a comment that they have never produced a sign as such. Cute, but not a true place. Try to find a zip code for it.
Horneytown, NC - take bike rides through here all the time.
the country store and the fire station
While driving around during work, I quite often drive through Wroxeter Ont. Thats not funny in itself, but the sign on the edge of town says "Former Ghost Town". Again not that great but then get to the next town called Gorrie. So you have a former ghost town and gorrie = the makings of a horror movie.
Just north of Statesboro on Highway 301, you'll pass through Clito, Georgia. Cl-EE-to. SMH......
Asseff Rf, headed down I49 through LA....I always have to pull over and take a suggestive picture with the sign. I'll never grow up...
While driving though Amish country around hear I see signs that say "Bag Shavings $xx". I always way to get in line.
Does that count?
My sister inlaw just moved to Dildo, Newfoundland.
Did someone mention French Lick, Indiana?
What's a former ghost town? People settle, everyone moves away, then later people return?
It's a reincarnation town.
