Just bought a hybrid and when we looked at the camper it was winterized. After flushing the system we seem to have rust in the toilet. I clean the rust out of the toilet and it looks fine but a couple days later it’s right back to rust. I’m not sure where it’s coming from but it looks gross!!!

Hmm, perhaps it is biological since there's not much to rust in a typical RV water system. Are you running on city water or on the pump off the internal tank?

If you're running off the tank, have you sanitized the tank and water system? I suspect biological slime over rust. Does it also come out the faucets?

Sounds like pink mold to me. I would sanitize the fresh water system with a mild bleach and water solution and let the toilet sit over night with a bowl of a stronger bleach and water solution.

Don't add metal to your meals. It prevents rust. [RTM]
