ordered new 25ft dual quick plug cord.
marked the end that pairs with battery BATT.

    option a.
use Batt end on battery, cut off xxx end, add ring terminals.
    result 25 ft cord.

    option B
cut off xxx end & flip end to match polarity on battery end, so i keep the inline fuse (red 10#)
    result 15ft cord

    option c.
get the other end for fuse cord so new cord plugs in?
cut off xxx end and use connectors to create 40ft cord.

Kat, I used Anderson SB 50 connectors with 75ft of 10-2 SO cable. I have a Anderson connector on a pigtale sticking out of the battery box. I can move the panels to catch the optimum sun.

despite the website saying it was in stock, it wasnt.
    autozone had something close.
    now cord is 40 ft!
reaches from garage to side yard for afternoon sun.

    battery is depleted

I hope it works after all the trouble you have been thru trying to get everything to work. Personally I carry a small genny and charger to re-charge my batteries (if I am boondocking)
I built and installed solar school flashers and count stations for several years, and when we had several days with no or hardly any sun, I would get complaints.
