I'm rebuilding the roof and I am reusing the metal rail that wraps around the roof base, holds the gasket, and separates the roof from the body. The old gasket was cracked and had to be forcibly removed.

Does anybody know where I can find a new gasket for a Starcraft Starmaster 6 roof?

Try contacting the sponsor here, Cathey's RV. They are well known for their very PROMPT and professional service, not to mention the right part when you need it. Good Luck!

Yeah...I contacted Cathy's and they don't carry that gasket. Has anybody else replaced that gasket? It's probably about 35' long, grey, runs the perimeter of the trailer on the underside of the roof where it meets the body of the trailer.

What year is yours do you have a picture of it?

I am sure we might be able to locate it for you.

email Kim the pictures of your gasket and we will try and match it up.

  5. I had to replace the gaskets when I replaced the side panels on my roof. I couldn't find the original Rockwood style anywhere, so I went with a Jayco gasket. It installs the same way and works fine.

It is expensive. Somewhere between $3 - $4 per foot!. Installation is a bear, too. If you plan on sliding it in to the channel, make sure you soap it well first. Also take time to meditate first and don't drink a lot of coffee <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Big Smile">.

One of the techs told me he uses a screen roller to install them, and it makes it much easier. I didn't have one on hand. In hindsight, I probably should have bought one.

I finally called Starcraft and they gave me the part number to give to my local Starcraft dealer...it ended up being 54 cents a foot. Good thing I checked back in on this post, those tips are good ones; I was already wondering how I was going to slip it back in.

Good to know cause I just popped mine back in after repairing my roof. Thats an awesome price. I just sprayed mine with silicone spray & it popped in by hand no problem. Newer seals may be a little tougher though.

Would you mind posting the part number please.

I wrote it on a post it and called the dealer (PlainsView Trailers in Brantford) right away...I have no idea what the part number is anymore...sorry. The people at the Starcraft head office parts department were really helpful though; I just asked them for the 'Gasket' that seals the roof to the body, and she knew exactly what I was talking about. You can't buy direct, so she gave me the part number and a local Starcraft Dealer.

Also, the gasket does not come packaged, it is ordered by the dealer, by the foot, directly from SC...hence no part number on the product itself.
