I'm starting to researching tires and finding (like most things on the pop up) the more you dig into something the more there is to learn...

Anyways, having trouble figuring out what all the codes mean on the tires.

The tires I have are ST 145R12

I understand the size and radial part.

However, after that is E 95L. Is this part of the speed rating?

Trying to figure out the speed and load rating.

    Thanks!

The L is a 75mph or 120km/h speed rating and the E 95 is the load range. An E 95 is the weight max the tire can handle or 1,521 lbs.

I believe the speed rating is 75 tops should be more like 65
The load rating figures should be on the side walls.

I came up with that 1521 figure too, but thats seems way too height, thats why i suggested the sidewall look see.

I am surprised at the 75 mph speed rating. I thought I read that most ST tires were 65 mph.

I looked at the sidewalk and the 1,521 is correct! I assume 1,521 x 2 is the max for the two tires? I have a light trailer so am way under.
