I just wanted to put my feelers out and see how many Viking pup's were out there. Viking does not seem to be one of the major brands out there, so I was also trying to figure if there were any Viking specific problems that I might need to be aware of for the future.

    Thanks...

I really like the floorplan for the 2407 ST. I like that a lot.

A separate shower and potty... no more shoilet! A dinette and a sofa bed... lots of room to sit. Two king beds.

    I like that a lot. I could be convinced to wear a Viking helmet. It could happen. <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Smile">

    becasunshine,

The 2407 is the same as our floorplan. We liked the seperate shower/toilet also. You can close the curtain across and have plenty of room for dressing. It also came with an extention for the table so you can add more room to the table or seat another on the sofa. DH was sold on the power lift system, so no cranking. We have traveled cross country at least 4 times and 100's locally and handles well. It is our home away from home. We love it.

well the only difference I can see is that where the optional ref. is at on a 1706 is where our furnace is located at, where their opt. furnace is at we just have storage space behind cupboard doors and our counter is straight, it does not curve out at the end near the bed, and I can't tell from the picture, but we have a tiny step near each end for getting up into the bunks easier. Other then that, they look the same. Hope that helps.

We bought our Viking 1706 last year and were out every weekend. It was what we expected, an 8 foot box with a few extra things that our tent did not have. Its small but for two adults it is just fine. I would say the awning would be the drawback. That thing is really cheep and does not do well in the wind at all! The trailer itself is fine inside. We put up a long pole and some storage so that we had a little more room. Pic's are on my other computer but I will try to post soon.

We have a 97 Legend 2490 and had real good luck with it. Bought it used in 98, previous owner only used once. We have only done basic maintenance in the 11 years we've owned it, but this year we are doing some mods. DH is installing a water pump with bar faucet and because we never use the sofa, we are taking that out and adding more storage. The canvas has held up very well, but we are starting to notice some seperation of seams. We may be able to take it to local seamstress and have her reinforce everything. We figure to keep this camper for another year or two, then upgrade to something with bathroom and slideout dinnette. Of course, more storage is always a issue. DH likes to bring everthing and the kitchen sink!! I say soup, sandwiches, smores, RELAX and PLAY!!!!!

Hello from upstate SC. My wife and I just bought our 1997 Viking 1706 model in January. It is pre-owned, but was taken great care of. It needed a little cleaning, but it's now ready to roll.

Yhe wife and I bought our 2006 Viking Legend 2470ST new and we love it. Has alot of room, alot of goodies, and pulls like a dream. No problems with quality so far. The wife and kids love the cassette toilet for those late night urges, lol. I would but another Viking without batting an eye.

Add me to the list, just picked up an '03 1906st

Haven't tested it out yet, still at the dealer getting some work done!

I will say that these "newer" trailers are head and shoulders above the soft tops i grew up camping in.
