This ice machine made such a difference during our last HOT camping trip.

I would totally do that but typically don't have electric hookups...

It's on my wish list. Can someone tell me the best one to buy? I have seen them from $79.00 to $229.00 and they all look the same and none seem to be American made.

I went through the same problem. I researched for over a year and ended up with the Smad portable ice maker. Paid $159, unfortunately NOT made in the USA . I purchased through Amazon.

We bought an Igloo ice maker from Wal-Mart and are very happy with it. As far as I know it's an American company.

I have been using one for about a year now, we bring it into the house when we aren't camping, great little machine and it makes 21LBS of ice a day, I usually give ice away when I break camp.

I bought mine at a garage sale. I love it. I think it is an Emerson brand, but so many are just rebranded. Mine lives in the pup, so far it has survived 3 years. I won't be without one in any camper now.
