I've got a 2006 Coleman Cobalt (Fleetwood Element) and the threads on the end of the drive shaft are slightly stripped. Got the new drive hub extension assembly hoping that was the issue. it was partly, but the new coarse thread nut isn't going onto the drive shaft due to the stripping.

Drive hub extension is part #4716A1741
    Drive shaft is #4751A3701

Want to try a die set and fix the threads because I won't get the new drive shaft in time for my trip coming up.

    Anyone have any idea?

With no pictures, I'm the visual type, I'm going out on the proverbial limb. Just looking at the parts, I assume the 5/8" threaded portion is recessed. I have taken a nut before and cut teeth into the threads with a small file, to cut in the clockwise direction. Once the nut is modified, it is welded to a pipe that can pass over the stud. Use some cutting oil, like a with a die, and slowly work it on and off over the damaged threads.

Did what Mo8414 suggested. Looks like it’s a M12 1.75. Will try the die tomorrow and post pix. Thanks!

Didn't snap a pic, but turns out it is actually a 1/2" coarse thread. Thought I'd throw that in here in case anyone else goes searching for it. The die worked great!
