Largest downtown square in the state and in the top 5 in the US. Used to be know as the chick capital of the world. 1 stop on the Underground Railroad. Switch yard of the infamous "Leaky Roof Railroad"

Lanesville, Indiana..... Heritage Weekend. Largest 3 day festival (2nd Weekend of September) in Indiana. Starting this year it is being extended to 4 days. There is all the carnival rides/food like a normal fair, vendor booths, along with 100's of antique tractors, steam engines and tractor/truck pulls. A parade on Saturday. 2 years ago our family (aunts, uncles, & cousins) took all of our antique tractors (ending up being 96 in all) in honor of my grandfathers 96th birthday. They have 50 water/electric camping sites along with "primitive" sites. There is a long waiting list for the water/electric sites.

My hometown is now famous for something else: It's the setting of the new HGTV show "Home Town"! I've lived away longer than I lived there, but that's my hometown! We're all very proud of Erin and Ben and love the show. If you haven't seen it, you really should!

Texas A&M University and the Corps of Cadets

Approximately 20,000 A&M students and former students fought in World War II, 14,000 of them serving as officers. According to the Corps guidebook, more Aggies served as officers than any other school, “including the combined totals of the United States Military Academy and United States Naval Academy.”

Whoop! Beat the hell outta tu!

Staten Island garbage dump. Even though it's closed, people still mention it first.

Lancaster, CA is best known for the California Poppies and Wild Flowers. At least two months out of each year, then just tumble weeds and cactus.

Maplewood MN is home of the 3M corporate headquarters. Anyone need some scotch tape or post-it notes?
