I have a new Dexter torsion axle with electric brakes.

Where is the best place to ground the magnet wire in the electric brake hub?

Anywhere on the frame with a clean connection.
Since they are a critical component I ran a separate ground wire to the battery.

Thanks. This is a followup. How come the new Dexter Axle has 16 gauge wire and the 7 pin is blue 12 gauge?

Frame or run a white wire back to the White wire on the 7 pin connector

A two wheel axle is fine with 16ga. The connector allows for trailers with more wheels.

That's all each brake assembly needs. 2 brakes you would want to run #14 to the first brake wire and daisy chain to the second. 4 brakes I think you want to use #12 and do the same daisy chain to the others.

Each BRAKE MAGNET will draw around 3AMPS DC CURRENT WHEN HIT WITH 12vdc... This relates to 6AMPS DC current for each axle being used.

I use one of those frame drlll tap kits from local auto stores (PEP BOYS)…

This will allow you to have a treaded bolt hole in your POPUP frame. Then I use a star washer to bite into the frame and never have more than one or two cable ring terminal per Tap... I always spray the whole connection with RTV to keep it from rusting after installing bolt and cables ring terminals...

When you ground it to the frame make sure to clean the spot to bare metal to insure a good ground.
