@kitphantom I'm a Cranie, class of 1987. I remember coming back from spring break and it was snowing. I'll never forget Tom, one of my practicum partners complaining about the snow. Needless to say he did not return to school the following semester.

@fourhallatts My roommate, and still friend, was a Cranie; we're class of '76.

Some of the places we camp and hike may be interesting this year. I haven't seen a percentage of average snowfall for North Rim of Grand Canyon yet, but Zion posted something like 150% last week. The first time we went to North Rim was a year with 175% of avg snowfall, and they were still literally shoveling out trails when we arrived over Memorial Day weekend. We'll be there for Memorial Day week, I keep picturing it being a mud season.
Colorado has had lots of snow, and avalanches. My husband saw a notice that one road accessing hiking has something like 40' of snow on it, so they've been warning that things may open up late, and in limited fashion in places. We don't head to CO until August this year, so we should be OK int he places we're going.
However, with the snow fall in NM/CO, they are predicting the best white water rafting on the Rio Grande in years, such as in the "box" near Pilar.

My wife and I are both tired of winter!! Not so much the snow but more of the temps and cold rain we seem to be getting a lot of!! We don't mind rain, but if the temps were warm then we can deal with it.

Ground was white here this morning.
    It's 50 now.
Spring is trying to fight it's way through, but winter isn't giving up.

We have a nice day for about every 4 yuck days.
It was a white out here for over an hour yesterday.

Not me... was in Mammoth Lakes twice and loved it. I still camp in SoCal in winter. Hate the snow? move to SoCAL!

Right down the Thruway from you to the west in Rochester. I'm glad to see your area won the snowfall derby between Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. But it's over. I just brought my unit home yesterday. Now time to clean it and get ready to go camping!!

Spring is sort of happening in the desert SW. The poppies in AZ have been gorgeous over the past 10 days that I've been in Tucson and just south of it. Desert temp swings have been interesting - mid 80s over the past few days - and low to mid 30 at night.
In ABQ today, the temps are cold again and it was snowing a bit when I talked to Courtenay a while ago. I guess I dress accordingly to finish my trip home tomorrow.

Just woke up to a fresh 5 inches of snow on the ground. All of it was melted yesterday. Cruel April Fool's Day joke by Mother Nature.

I was very disappointed when I heard the plows this morning. Though I'm hoping it will be melted by the end of the day since the sun is shining.[SUN]

It's 50 degrees F (10 C) and rainy (it's been like that for a week and a half). The last of the snow in our yard should melt today and the pup will be free! .....Except that we could get more tonight.

There is a forecast of 5" to 8" of snow in our area for next Wednesday. I'm hoping its just the weather terrorist trying to scare us again.
