Wiring on a Jayco popup

    I'm relatively new to the popup community so I hope someone can help me out.

    Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a '94 1207 Jayco popup? There are 6 wires coming out of the plastic female plug mounted to the front of the trailer (white/black/red/brown/yellow/green). The plug is a 6-wire square style. I know white=ground, brown=tail marker, yellow=left turn, and green=right turn. I really want to switch out that female plug since I believe I have a short in it, but I wasn't sure my best option. If I switch to a 6 wire round plug, I want to be sure of getting the wiring correct The connecting wire from my vehicle goes from a 4-wire flat to the male square.

    So my questions are:

    What are the red and black wires?
    What are my options for changing out the possible bad plug?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Two different wiring used.
    The wiring for Jayco should be White=ground, Green=running, Red=left turn,Brown=right turn, Black=12V,Yellow= used if equipped for backup or separate stop lights. Normal trailers are wired as you have listed. Hope this helps.
