I pull a similar sized camper that is probably at least 1,000lbs heavier with a rear slide, plus it’s 8’ tall using my V6 Canyon. I figure I’m around 5k loaded and the truck is rated for 7k. When I brought the camper home, I didn’t have a WDH, and the truck didn’t sit down an inch I don’t think...
When we had our pup, we used the "Tent Shower/Potty" idea and it worked perfectly. We had a
Thetford 300C, I think was the model? The cassette style is a lot easier on dumping/etc.
+1 on SteveP's advice. Let the converter do it's work. At the end of the day, it's not a bad lesson to
learn on day 1, especially when it's in the driveway. It's a much harder thing to come across at the
campsite, so chalk it up to experience!
So, technically this isn’t for my RV, however I got bored yesterday and built this and it could, technically, be used in the dark sider so I’m sharing it. Backstory; my favorite place to sit at the house is in the center of the sectional because that’s the best TV viewing angle. The drawback? No...
There's really no comparison. A rooftop unit, even the smallest, puts out 13,500 btu and in Florida,
on the beach, in July, when temps during the day were 90 and humidity over 90%, it got WAY too
cold in the p'up, that I had to turn it off several times. 2 of the days we were there, it rained...
Yikes, I forgot this is a new month/year already. So, just pretend the Winegard UHF booster post
is in this thread and not the December version of the same :-)
It's going to be tough finding a midsize SUV that will hold 3 car seats. The 3rd row of seating, at
least in my opinion, would be an absolute must. Having said that, a newer vehicle, especially something
2016 and newer, allows you to get much better MPG than something from say 2012. They've...
I got a Winegard Wingman UHF booster for my antennae and installed it. Took all of 5 minutes, even
though I had to modify a smidge since my antennae is from '05, but it jumped my reception from
3 channels to 16 here in the driveway anyway. I recommend those if you have the wingman style...
Yeah I’m curious of how the plan is being funded. What’s the max budget? Those composting toilets are wildly expensive as well. The good news is there’s plenty information out there about how many amps Slow Cookers, Hair Dryers and Playstations take. What about AC? Many have tried to solar power...
Whole reason I bought the TT that we have is that it has a “full” bathroom. There’s a door, a window and an overhead vent with fan. If the need arises it gets used. Having said that, I’m pretty regular so CG facilities are option #1.
End of the day, the names on the side never mean as much as the names on the title. And that’s a fact. I’ve got a 12 year old TT that was made by Forest River and given a “Viking” name, that only lasted for a year on the market back then (it was too costly to be branded Viking some Corp bigwig...
DW looked at the pup and said “oh, that’s cute and I can make it work”. With the TT she’s more like “ok change the floor, cover the cushions, sew new privacy curtains and I want this coffee maker.....etc etc etc”. Going from “it’ll be fine” to “I love this thing” makes a world of difference...
