Texas Puppers Rally Wolf Creek 2017

All is well here, but man did Harvey create a mess! It's got my timeline a bit backed up because I've had to work NON-STOP once the waters receded... gotta collect blood donations in times of crisis! But I still plan to head out.... the schools delaying their return date to Sept 11 really...

Texas Puppers Rally Wolf Creek 2017

Txbum is helping me order parts .... we should be able to get this thing rolling again soon. Nothing too major wrong with it, it just needs some TLC after sitting unused for so long. Wish me luck! Thanks, all!

Texas Puppers Rally Wolf Creek 2017

I will be contributing food of course, but right now I'm stuck on trying to figure out the camper logistics. Remember I told y'all my friend Dave was taking it on a shakedown trip? Glad he did, but he burned up all 3 tires I need to replace them all now, including a rim. One of the jacks also...

Texas Puppers Rally Wolf Creek 2017

(Guess I should change my signature, but I'm not ready. It will probably be just me and my puppy Melody.)

Texas Puppers Rally Wolf Creek 2017

TxBum, just saw the news about MJ. So glad she's on her way to recovery. Tell her to get well soon! As for me, I reserved site 13 for the rally. As I told lonestar, I'm a tiny bit terrified. I've never driven (or backed!) a trailer, and the pup has not been out since the last rally we...

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

You're so right lonestar - we have lots of really great memories and I am very thankful for that.

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

Hey - found the Rockwood instructional video online... it says if manual override is needed, insert the supplied jack handle. I knew it! If another tool exists, it was not included with our purchase. It's just the one tool.

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

No need to do that, TxBum, you've done MORE than enough. Mat was an electrician and I've kept 90% of his tools. I'm pretty sure he has what we need - I'd just have to know to dig it up and bring it. I'm guessing it lives in a case labeled Dewalt - just need to go through some of that stuff.

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

So for the manual crank - it is a different tool than what is used to set the stabs? I could've sworn it was the same. The old Coleman had two, but I thought this camper had just one. If something is missing, I have never seen it. Hmmm. I don't know... I will give it some time but it's a...

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

I owe about a million thanks to TxBum and my friend Dave for helping out in a terrible situation. It was pouring rain, and we were all standing in it getting soaked trying to troubleshoot. Skeeter, I called Toppers in the middle of the ordeal (that's the dealer where we bought it) and suddenly...

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

Hey guys, just an update. I should hopefully be there with the pop-up and friends. Some of you met my close friend Bobbie and her husband David (who gave Mat's eulogy) at his memorial. They are planning to come with me and tow the trailer. :) So add to our reservation 2 more adults and 2...

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

Tx bum, just saw your note. You are too kind. I have a couple tents - a small dome tent and a nice new cabin tent. We only used it once on our Big Bend trip last fall. I have a couple cots too. I think we will be fine, but I might could use a hand with setting it up if I'm alone. Sent...

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

I'm still debating bringing it. In many ways I want to, and in many ways it is hard. I might- will keep you posted. It hasn't been opened since our last rally here and it will probably be extremely emotional for me. We will see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I should probably change my signature line, but I can't force myself to do it. :(

2015 - Texas Puppers Fall Rall

I am in site 119, all reserved. I will probably be in a tent. Nathan is going to try and come if he can get off work. His truck theoretically could pull the camper, but I've never driven a trailer and can only imagine the stress of trying to park it. I'm thinking we will stick with a tent...
