I picked this up for free via craigslist and it has become part gear hauler/art project/education for future purchase DYI camper. Time-lapse video of the rebuild and paint job done by some artist friends is at johnnyhbolder.com. The name is an inside joke that got out of control.
I enjoy kayaking and mountain biking and my intent for the camper is for it to be:
b) durable/easy to repair
c) dry quickly if there is a leak.
d) External community art project/ inside looks don't matter.
e) gear hauler - lots of space for plastic bins.
a) tore out all internal components, paneling, and flooring.
b) replaced walls and flooring with thin underfloor plywood painted white with kills.
c) Rough reseal of the top seam on the roof and around the vent.
to-dos by priority:
a) Roof - reshape and reseal. Do something with vent.
b) Ceiling - remove insulation and clean. Replace with simple durable option. Looks aren't important.
c)Screens - repair 5-10 small holes.
d) Door - replace top 1/2 with tarp/screen option using magnet or velcro to close.
d) Wheel Well - build it out.
