Hello All!
Just thought I would creep out of my cave and check in.
I took a long break from social media and the internet, it was becoming overwhelming over the last year & half or so. Still not on much at all.
Glad to see the VT Rally tradition continuing....
We will be at Winhall this...
Hi All, Hope everyone is well!
I have now had every reservation I made cancelled this season at Winhall. Very frustrating to say the least, now this construction thing.
Why they couldn't do the project during the extended closure baffles me.
I would like to mention that the only things that have...
Vermont closed all CGs (including private) and other accommodations till further notice along with every other state it seems. Even the overnight shelters on the Appalachian Trail are closed.
On a non camping note, my rural area is seeing an upswing in cases but we have gone from 50 calls a week...
It's a wait and see...
They are not taking new reservations. If you already made reservations, they suggest holding them in case they open. They will issue refunds without service charges if they do not open.
If you cancel now, there will be a charge. I do not have high hopes for our inaugural...
Hi all - Family commitments and weddings will be tying up my fall camping plans this year. If anyone else wants to plan a rally for Fall in Vermont this year, feel free as I will not make be able to. You all know what to do by now so enjoy!
The next few days are looking warm and semi-sunny to sunny, perfect fall camping weather. In addition to chili, I will be bringing a baked sausage ziti for the potluck.
Is it Friday yet????

(Quechee Gorge State Park) and the leaves were just starting to show there colors.
On the way home, we took the back roads and crossed over the Green Mountains. The colors at the higher elevations were more advanced and it was a beautiful...
No you didn't miss something, my bad. I meant Friday. Just came off a double shift when I wrote this. I have edited the original post
Breakfast/Brunch is Friday morning at 9:30...
Still a few sites for you lurkers out there....
This is camping not work so late breakfasts are a treat, I can't make it till Friday this year so I will miss breakfast unfortunately.
Here is the itinerary for the rally -
Friday 9:30 - Brunch (North Loop Pavillion)
Friday 7:00ish - Meet & Greet...
We found a new place to kayak last week near the CG. Lowell Lake State Park is a beautiful quiet lake with 4 small islands, some with picnic tables on them. Parking is limited so if we do a group kayak we will have to load up the trucks.
If you think the Golden Can Opener is impressive wait till you find out it is equipped with a bottle opener too!
Six weeks or so and there are still a few sites available throughout the campground.
Hopefully the construction on 30 to 100 out of Manchester will be finished. It has been a dirt...
'BAPAPAPAPAPA"
Sounds like Saturday night around the campfire after the Chili Cookoff...
Sounds like I am bringing my spark plug socket to keep quiet in the holllow
