    KEYS

There's not much crime in the Texas state parks, so for the most part we don't worry about it. We still lock up the camper every time we leave it, but I don't leave things like laptops, cameras, wallets, truck keys, etc in the camper when we do go somewhere, if we brought those camping with us...

    Gen-Y Glyder

Got back yesterday from our trip and the ball mount did an excellent job. You could see the camper in the mirrors bouncing some as it went over bumps or potholes but barely felt anything in the truck. At most you'd feel a slight push-pull movement over the larger bumps. In all of the pictures...

    Need Advice on Buying Camper

I have not read through all of the posts, only the first few, but having my own family of 6 with 4 kids ages ranging from 2-8, I thought my input might be of some use to you. First, we have a "king/king" popup with a dinette slide and goucho/bed sofa thing. We actually have made something to...

    Gen-Y Glyder

I think it was missed in my prior posts that the bed of my truck is full. The bike rack on the rear to hold both the bikes and the chairs is to make for room in the bed of the truck. I also left out that the last time I checked the weight of my setup I was only putting 4 trunks on the tray of...

    Gen-Y Glyder

I do notice it more than others and it is that porposing motion that I'm mainly feeling. My camper is on the lighter end of the TW at around 10-11%. When packed up for a 4 night trip the camper is just over 4k lbs and we've got just over 400 lbs TW, but we really don't get any sway, even at...

    Gen-Y Glyder

Yesterday I received in my Gen-Y Glyder ball mount from etrailer. We're going to give it a test on our next trip in a few weeks and I'll post back here to let people know how it goes. For those unfamiliar with this ball mount it basically incorporates a torsion axle that is about 6-8" wide to...

    Fourthwall

I just removed the Fourthwall from our camper. If you don't know what that is, I made a post about it when Ryanincc gave it to us for the cost of shipping. I don't have a box to put it in yet (the bent poles are the largest thing), but when I get one I'll be ready to pass it along to someone who...

CANCELLED-New Year Rally at Lake Texana

Sara mentioned this to me the other day. I believe she's been texting some of the group about going. We're definitely interested. Haven't been out camping much this year with the changes to the Texas State Parks reservation system requiring the full fee up front (instead of just the first...

    Coleman/Fleetwood Evolution owners? E1/E2/E3

I did read somewhere that someone had replaced their deck. I can't find it at the moment. If I remember correctly, the material they used on those units was basically an OSB with a coating on it similar to bed liner. On my Somerset the floor boards are made of Performax 500 OSB and the deck...

    Running lights and blown fuse

Since this is a new camper and the lights were likely tested at the factory, I'd guess that there's going to be a wire with a tight bend around a sharp metal edge that's causing your issue. Sounds like you won't be able to trace it down with a mutlimeter unless it happens to be shorted when you...

    Running lights and blown fuse

Have you Ohm'd out your running lights connection on the trailer? It's likely that there's a short in a wire somewhere. Also, does the fuse blow immediately when your TV turns on the running lights or does it happen after you've towed for a distance? This will tell if it's an intermittent...

    Burn Ban Maps.

I live in Katy and yes, we've had a rather wet spring this year. From the data on the Harris County FWS website of the ~55" of rainfall seen at the sensor closest to my house at least 1/4 of it fell in the past 30 days. I've been in the area for 14 years now and it seems that we have a peak of...

    Burn Ban Maps.

It is strange that the State of Texas decides to use Texas A&M for so much that would normally come from government sites, but I guess there's some kind of grants or money flow to cover it. As for the charcoal/wood fires and gasoline vs propane, I discussed this with a ranger once and turns out...

Does Your Camper Have A Name?

Isn't that one of the old FTCA/Coleman Scorpion S4 models? I've never seen one myself, but when we were looking into buying our Somerset E3 6 or 7 years ago it was one that I found had been made for a very short time.

    PUG Delamination

From my previous experience, yes, Bob stands behind his product. I just have been rather busy lately and haven't called him about it yet. I'll probably do it in a day or two. We won't be going back out camping again until February/March, if I ever get around to making reservations. I always...

    PUG Delamination

Ordered my second set of PUGs back in February, one new bunkend cover, one new slideout cover, and pulled a spare bunkend cover out of storage. Got back from a Thanksgiving camping trip and setup the camper for about 2 weeks to do some work on it and cleaning before garaging it for the cooler...

    Coleman/Fleetwood Evolution owners? E1/E2/E3

The Coleman/Fleetwood/Somerset design doesn't require safety bars. I forget the name of it, but it has to do with how the roof lift works and the columns themselves.

    Coleman/Fleetwood Evolution owners? E1/E2/E3

That's not where the safety pin is supposed to go on the Atwood coupler. It's supposed to go through the handle that you lift up to keep you from being able to raise the handle.
