2nd Stop: Rising River RV Park, Roseburg, OR
It was an easy 3.5 hour drive to Roseburg, although several passes seem to go on forever. The closer we got to Roseburg, the greener and lusher the landscape appeared. Apparently this is been their wettest and longest Winter/Spring in a long time.

Backstory: we've had our PUP for just over a year. DW wasn't sure we'd get enough use out of it to justify the cost. 2021 we camped about 40 nights, including an 18 day summer trip. So far, it has been well worth it. So much so, that we are thinking when we retire in four years, we'll buy a 30'...
Somebody else already mentioned it, but it should definitely be angled for rain. We left ours (2021 Rockwood) up and a huge rainstorm came in overnight. Our awning just kept collecting water until one of the aluminum supports just bent in half.
It took a bit of research, but we finally found...
We're coming up on the one year anniversary of our purchase, so I learned how to repack the bearings. I also checked and replaced our anode rod, although it probably still had some life left.
Our biggest change was that we (with a tremendous amount of help from my wife) installed an A/C unit...
I own a 2318g, and while I can move it side to side in our garage with a little effort, I can't imagine moving it back and forth, especially with the slightest grade up or down! Even when just pushing it back and forth a few inches, I'm constantly surprised how much force it takes to get that...
I can learn a $360 lesson. 😁
I was talking with an older full-timer at the CG. He basically said "Welcome the the club". Until you've bent am awning, you're not a real RVer, haha!"
I just rolled back into town. I'll try and take some pics, but it's twisted pretty badly.
Evidently, my wife and I slept through a pretty hard rainstorm. The awning collected as much rain as it could until it collapsed in the center, bending the (parallel to the pup) awning frame about 45...
On our latest trip this weekend, we ran into some story weather. Long story short, our awning itself survived, but the frame itself is pretty twisted.
We own a 2021 Rockwood 2318g, so the awning itself is pretty new. I'd hate to have to replace the entire bag awning.
Does anyone happen to know...
Realistically, you could sleep six: 2 on each bed, one on the fold out gaucho, and one on the dinette/bed foldout.
Even with 6, that's a LOT of bodies in a 12 foot box! 😁
Our Dodge Grand Caravan has a tow limit of 3500. We've hauled our Rockwood 2318G all over the Western United States. With the appropriate weight distribution hitch, it's been a breeze to tow. The "empty" (haha) weight is about 2400 pounds, and you have a dinette slide to give you a little extra...
WOW, that's great information, and confirmed a lot of my thoughts.
We're taking the pup out this weekend, so I'll be able to look inside and see what kind of prep work Rockwood has already done
Thanks again!
Sorry, I wasn't quite clear describing my "cutout". 😁
Next to my 30 amp service plug on the driver side, there is another round opening with a slide down cover labeled "AC PREP".
I'm at work, but will upload a picture when I get home.
Thanks.
Thanks all for your replies -- as always, they're very helpful.
I do have the gizmos, and love them!
I've also watched most of the above video, and thinking perhaps this is a project I can take on, as I consider myself somewhat handy, haha.
My one lingering question is this: my unit is "AC...
