CABINETRY! A few of the braces will probably come out because I’m unhappy with how they are fastened, but we’ve decided on this layout. The long bench will be a sitting bench with cubbies underneath. The short cabinet along the front will have a flip-up counter top with cubbies for Coleman...

Heating for my Cox Cadet Tent Trailer?

my biggest reservation with the buddy is the dog. I hate for him to hop off the bed in the middle of the night and burn himself on it

Heating for my Cox Cadet Tent Trailer?

Some of you have seen my '76 Cox Cadet rebuild project thread; but if you haven't, I'm rebuilding an inherited Cadet 200 from the frame up. We've reached the point in the build that I have to plan interior cabinetry, and need some advice. The Cadet 200 was a *SUPER* spartan camper. Basically a...

UPDATE: Paint has been applied! We’ll let it dry over the holiday and decide if we want more coats of white or if we will begin on the stripe design (my wife has decided there will be a retro design). Also roughed out the strike plate hole so my door latches and locks now.

July 2022 - what did you do for your camper?

Plan to work on my screen door fitment and possibly pick up some paint after work.

    SEWER Rally 2022 10/6/22- 10/10/22

Ok so not to jinx myself but the camper has a working door now so it's looking we'll be up and running in time *fingers crossed* Now I just gotta remember to update my build thread [::)] EDIT: does it matter which sites we book or is the parking flexible since the whole place is reserved?

Restoring 1968 Wheel Camper Ranch Wagon 8

Oh now this is cool. Wish I could have kept this kind of vintage look with mine but my original aluminum panels were way too trashed...

Correct, wall studs are 1x2" assembled as a ladder frame and screwed together in place. I was actually surprised how flimsy the frames were until I attached the plywood. I'll have to dig back through my phone for when I disassembled it for hoop pictures, I'm sure I took some. I haven't put the...

Sorry for dropping off for a bit, the weather has been unpredictable here so I've been catching up on other projects and work. The measurements I took for the diagram I drew at the beginning included some "wiggle room" because some of the parts I was trying to measure were pretty rotted. I cut...

They are basically big piano hinges, yes. And the frame is, I believe, 2x3 channel with some 1.5x1.5 angle. I’d have to measure it as I didn’t build it, it’s the original Cox factory trailer frame…

BIG UPDATES!! My wife was out of her teaching job on Spring Break this week, so I took off as well and managed to make some headway. One of my goals beginning this project was to try and replicate the original shape, construction and appearance of the original camper as close as possible...

    Interior wall materials?

That is a damn cool little camper! I half-way wish I'd have used solid 3/4" ply for the walls on ours as well, but it would have probably doubled the weight.

Oh oh! Did I wait too long

I never had a problem taking time off when I was turning wrenches, but I haven’t taken any time off since I got promoted. My wife teaches and wanted us to take a week for Spring Break, but it’s starting to seem irresponsible to be away from the shop for a week. I’ll probably work Monday-Tuesday...

That sounds like an in-depth project! The whole subfloor was rotted in mine so it made the tear down fairly easy. Also, Yep I’ve played mostly P basses for about a decade.

My grandparents IIRC had a mid-70s LTD when they bought this. It replaced a TT that pushed the LTD all the way down a few mountainsides on a return trip and quickly got traded. Later he pulled it with a little Ford Courier. I plan to use a Ford Maverick if I ever get my order placed. Finished...

    Wall / subfloor question

I would think you could use self-drilling screws to run up through the lip of the frame, as long as it's accessible. That's what i'm using to secure the subfloor to the frame of mine
