    1-2-Both-Off or 1-2-Off Battery Switch

thanks. Last month, i replaced our rooftop AC unit with a Maxxfan unit (since we only camp where it is cool at night) and it resets to a default condition (closes and sets medium speed) upon a power restoration. Thats not a big deal. Also, the propane leak detector beeps when power is...

    1-2-Both-Off or 1-2-Off Battery Switch

One more question - what would you use the B (both) option for? smooth non-disruptive switching between batteries? or actually paralleling the batteries?

    1-2-Both-Off or 1-2-Off Battery Switch

by 1-2-B you mean 1-2-Both-Off ? i like the idea of the Both setting allowing switching between 1 and 2 w/o power interruption, but i'd probably NOT use Both option with mixed chem, even for the brief time of switching over. I think i'll put breakers on each of the batteries, just in case...

    1-2-Both-Off or 1-2-Off Battery Switch

My apologies for not making my intent clear. I want to add a 2nd battery, but it may or may NOT be at the same charge level, and may or may NOT be the same type of battery chemistry. for example, our main (only at this point) battery is a standard lead-acid deep cycle RV battery. I was...

    1-2-Both-Off or 1-2-Off Battery Switch

I want to add a 2nd battery to my 2002 Coleman Mesa camper and am looking for recommendations and insight into an affordable yet dependable Battery switch. I'd like something similar in function to this one (1-2-Off), but at a lower price if possible...

mystery wire under dining bench?? - 2002 Coleman Mesa

Yes, upon closer inspection, i see that the one wire is orange. It must be for the thermostat for the heater option. That is huge wire and connector for a thermostat, but maybe they use all the same connectors and wires out of convenience. Thanks for that suggestion! I was thinking of...

mystery wire under dining bench?? - 2002 Coleman Mesa

we don't have a heater, but perhaps it was an option. These wires look pretty heavy gauge (AWG 14) plus has a large connector like the battery connector - not what i'd expect for a thermostat. I do not measure 12V DC on them with the volt meter. thanks kevin

mystery wire under dining bench?? - 2002 Coleman Mesa

Embarrassingly, i did not trace out this wire when i was renovating (replacing floor, walls on the ends) due to H2O damage. We are the only owner of the camper. At some point, i'll poke around and see where they lead. The weird thing to me is that they do not follow the color scheme of the...

mystery wire under dining bench?? - 2002 Coleman Mesa

For years i have wondered about this, and finally remembered to ask here. We have a wire pair under our front dining bench (next to the front bed) in our 2002 Coleman Mesa. Does anyone know what this is for? It does NOT seem to have 12V DC on it while the camper is powered, and the colors...

    2002 Coleman Mesa trunk removal

Yes, i saw examples of that option when i was considering my renovation, but since my plastic body panels were still intact (a few leaking cracks that we patched), i elected to replace the floor and framing and then put the body panels back on for the trunk. It was a ton of work, but very...

    Coleman Roof Seal Replacement

@Fless, How is your roof gasket holding up? I need to remove, clean, and replace it on our 2002 Mesa and was planning on getting the adhesive that you recommended. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/v000087446/ Thanks for the feedback!!! kevin

    2002 Coleman Mesa trunk removal

FYI - we also have a 2002 Mesa which we let water damage the front and rear. I rebuilt the trunk and have many photos if you decide to re-do the trunk. It was a big job, but has served well the last 4 years w/o a drop of water coming in. I also improved it a good bit from what it was - much...

    How to fix water damage

Agreed. in the case of our leaks (and resulting repairs) the body panels were leaking and we ended up replacing floor, wall framing, and wall board (paneling), but tenting was not affected. from your photo, it does seem to be affecting the tenting, which would point toward the roof being the issue.

    How to fix water damage

Yes, the top priority is find this and all other leaks and fix them. No water can get into the wood framing or floor, it is unable to resist water damage. That being said, we did not know of leaks for years and as a consequence had to do front and back floor and framing replacement a few years...

    Adding usb out lets.

Thanks! I noticed that they also offer this option, which would retain the 12v outlet, and swap the CATV connector for 2 USB. Maybe that would be the best choice in my case. https://magnadyne.com/magnadyne-wc-12v-wall-mount-usb-charger-with-2-ports-and-12v-power-outlet/ thanks for your...

    Adding usb out lets.

Yes!!! i am looking for a low idle draw also. Those are very pricey, but maybe worth it in the long haul. It bothers me that most of these outlets have a light on them which is a waste of precious battery energy. We still have our original power setup w/ a single deep cycle Pb-acid battery...
