    Red Rock Canyon State Park

If you insist on camping in the Oklahoma heat, especially on the western prairie, this is the place to go. Any cold air that might exist in that heat all drops into the canyon. After 19 years living in OK heat, I took any cool I could find. On a nice Memorial day weekend you might see a tornado...

    Roan Mountain State Park

We got in yesterday. Very friendly people. Asphalt pads. Tall trees. Casual and quiet at the same time. The stone fire pits are nice looking but not too convenient for cooking. Pack accordingly. A large park visitors’ center at the park entrance. Restroom & shower facilities are small but very...

    Propane access upgrade

I"m going to use it as a quick-change rather than auto-change. That should eliminate the problem. Saw it on a YouTube video.

    Propane access upgrade

2001 Bayside Elite. I like the two tanks under the front. Not a problem. Putting in an ACR unit this week for an outing coming soon. I'd like thoughts on 1) Easier access to the tanks than having to remove 4 screws each time. Is there a preferred canvas cover you could recommend? 2) How did you...

    Propane upgrade

I purchased one of the ACR-2 cut-over units for my popup. The intake is a 7/16-24 fitting. And obviously I need a 3/8 gas fitting on the other end. I'm guessing this is a correct fitting to use Also, the 3/8-3/8 F-F hose from the tank to the regulator went bad. The crimp is loose and leaks. So...

Thanks. I probably just need to find someone to train us.

    New to the water system

We've been using a popup since 2013 (1993 Destiny Cedar) but now have one with water (2000 Bayside Elite) that the wife wants to use. Most of it I can figure out from the instructions -- except for one thing. I can't find any instructions regarding the tote-along tank and its use. My guess is...

    Parting out: 1998 Coleman Bayside

When I got my 2000 Bayside Elite the roof has a crack on one side. It was probably allowed to come crashing down. Depending on location and shipping (and part number match) I would be interested in the roof and dining nook canvas section. Also, curbside right front body panel. Maybe the water...

    Sequoia towing

I've recently acquired a 2015 Sequoia with the towing package. Has the 4- & 7-pin connectors. This is enough vehicle for any terrain towing. Should be fine. popup is a 2000 bayside elite. Heavy enough. We'll be going out this Summer for an extended period. Still deciding where. Anyway, I've...

    Newberry Campground

It’s in the central part of the Eastern half of the UP. That makes the sights all about a 1-hour drive away. The campground is clean and well-run. Campers are all respectful. Noise is at a minimum. Nice bathrooms and showers. Rates are reasonable. They’ve also got an open area for group tent...

    Lift crank shaft loose

Thanks. That’s helpful. Fortunately I don’t have any stripped threads like that poor guy. I just need friction.

    Lift crank shaft loose

1993 Destiny Cedar. I was showing it to sell this evening. When lowering it the outer shaft section came loose. It screws a shaft with a coarse and a fine thread. I am guessing that the fine thread should bind it in place. But it’s not. There is some corrosion on the fine thread. I am guessing...

    A new pantry

In another post I showed how the end bench was moved to the side to give us more walking space the length of the pop up. By doing that we also gained better access to that storage area beside the fridge. In some campers that space might be a cassette commode. In ours it’s a hole. Now that it is...
