    High quality propane pigtail

Am I correct in assuming some propane hoses do not have excess flow protection? Some on-line ads don't mention having an ACME nut or having excess flow protection.

    High quality propane pigtail

I called Marshall this morning and asked about the pigtail sold by Amazon and included in the link supplied by SteveP. The Amazon page says made in China. According to the Marshall representative, this is false and theseus is correct. The hose is made in the USA. According to the rep...

1995 Jayco jay 1007 popup red marker light in the back.

Maybe some penetrating oil like Liquid Wrench? I am not recommending this but when it happened to me, I broke the glass out and grabbed the base with needle nose pliers. I don't remember if it worked.

    High quality propane pigtail

I followed the link to the Marshall pigtail on Amazon and the country of origin is listed as China unless I have made a mistake. The Amazon site also says "1/4" Inv. Flare and 1/4" Mpt connection offered." I don't know if that means there is an adapting fitting with the pigtail. The leaking...

    High quality propane pigtail

I had a propane tank to regulator hose fail after less that two years. I would like to replace it with a high quality part. Shopping on-line, they all look the same except for the hoses wrapped in stainless steel fiber. I don't recognize the bands of the stainless steel hoses. Is there a...

Its getting colder, so be careful with space heaters

I was just getting comfortable with the idea of using a Buddy heater. Not so sure now.

    State Campsite Reservations

If demand for government campsites is exceeding supply, are we building more campsites? I personally like US Forest Service camping and I do not have problems reserving sites or finding non reservable sites during weekdays (retired). Some of the sites I like are primitive. I have lived about...

    Replacement water tank inlet hose.

I have searched for information about a replacement inlet water pipe for the tank on my 2006 Fleetwood Santa Fe. I know that a direct replacement hose is available of the same type as the original. I know some have had trouble with the hosed being cut in the flexible section by the seller...

    Car Battery Died

Do I understand correctly? My car came with a tow package. There is a pin on the connector that shows 12 volts with the ingition on but no voltage with it off. I assume that this is the lead that would supply current to the refigerator and I am OK to park with the ignition off and the...

    Best aftermarket AC gasket

I went with the Camco because I have never done a replacement before. I figured that if I distroyed the new gasket trying to install it, the gasket may as well be cheap. So far, I have detected no leaks but I have not had the camper on a trip. Someday soon, I hope.

    Alumnitite, rebuild or fix rails?

Found about 20 pin holes near the larger hole. I think I have some serious corrosion going on. I'm thinking about the 3M marine sealant for the pinholes but the label says "permanent." After removing the Proflex, I am a bit hesitant to use anything that is permanent.

    Alumnitite, rebuild or fix rails?

I replaced the AC gasket before removing the rail. The cross section of the roof that I could see looked good and the gasket probably did not need replacing. The leak under the rail was found due to testing the new AC gasket in a rain. I am still in the process of cleaning the Geocel from the...

    Alumnitite, rebuild or fix rails?

Thanks. I forgot to mention that the roof sags 1/2 inch at the center. Apparently those AC reinforcements don't help much.

    Alumnitite, rebuild or fix rails?

I noticed that the bottom of the hole I photographed was metal. I used a magnetic stud finder to prove the it was steel. I started to suspect that the cause of the hole was dissimilar-metal corrosion due to the wet foam inside the roof. The stud finder indicates that the steel is confined to...

    Alumnitite, rebuild or fix rails?

I also have the alumnitite roof and I have never been able to stop the leaks. I decided to remove one of the roof rack rails today and found corrosion of the roof in the photo. I broke off the corroded metal and found a wet, granular material underneath. Is it OK for me to bring my similar...

    Best aftermarket AC gasket

Yep. I think I read that the torque should be around 40 inch pounds. I have a USA made Craftsman, inch pound, needle binding torque wrench. I tightened until the reading was between 25 and 50 in-lb. Three of the bolts did not seem to overly compress the gasket where I could see or feel it...

    Best aftermarket AC gasket

I calked everything in sight but my 2006 (I think) Fleetwood Santa Fe still has a leaking roof. I have turned my attention to the roof mounted air conditioner. It looks like new gaskets costs between $12 and $40 but is there a way to judge quality other than price? What brand do you think...

    Ryobi Inflator run time

I think the Ryobi is not the best choice if you want an inflator to store, long term, in a vehicle for emergency use. I intend to carry it on camping trips for emergency tire use and for using the low pressure feature to inflate the air bags in my white water canoe. I will also use it at home...

    Ryobi Inflator run time

Yep, that is on page 3. Look near the bottom of page 5. "NOTICE: The inflator is not designed for continuous use. For every ten minutes of inflator use, ten minutes of cool down time is required."

    Ryobi Inflator run time

I have a Ryobi P747 inflator. On one page of the manual, it says to run the inflator for 5 minutes and let it cool for 5 minutes before running again. On another page it says 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. I called customer service and was told to run until the inflator cuts itself off and...
