Considering Going to the Dark Side

Update from OP. We are taking the popup out this weekend. We have agreed to set up slowly and take a break if we need. Hopefully pacing ourselves rather than racing will allow up to keep it a few more years. I just was not ready to go looking last weekend so hopefully we can make this...

Considering Going to the Dark Side

Those are definitely advantages. I remember coming home and having to pop up to dry it out a couple times.

Considering Going to the Dark Side

We cook and eat most meals inside the popup. If we go for a week or so, we only grill a few times. It's a compromise as DH does not care to cook on the fire.

I have the same emotional attachment to my popup you did. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I have always loved and respected your insights.

I looked for hybrids and the only ones I can find are three hours away. They would be an excellent choice if they were more common. The dealers here don't have any.

That all sounds so easy. Thank you.

Considering Going to the Dark Side

Your first sentence is what makes the decision so hard. I love the openness of the popup and we have only closed up to use a/c one time. If we trade I will really really miss that.

We are in Nashville area. I love your idea of renting one for the weekend and have considered that. I am so back and forth--my heart says keep the popup but logic says time to change. Thank you!

Considering Going to the Dark Side

We are discussing trading in the popup for a travel trailer. My husband has been dealing with problems with his back and Achilles tendon for over a year and I have several heart problems. The set up and take down and pushing up the bump into our garage is getting to make us consider moving...

    TV Has Fried Electrical System

The window sticker shows a trailer tow package which includes an "integrated trailer brake cont". We had a brake controller added to our old vehicle and there is nothing here. The salesman was not at all familiar with it and talked about something that you could dial tighter or less. It...

OP here. We traded Highlander in for a Ford F 150. It has the hitch, 7 pin, and some brake controller thing but not the actual brake controller. I'll start another thread asking my millions of questions. Sadly I cancelled Fort Pickens. C19 if anyone is close and looking for a great...

We plan on contacting Toyota corporate. Tell me about your Tacoma. We test drove a Ford Ranger last night and it made me really appreciate Toyota.

I think this is our 7th Toyota. Son has had a couple and daughter in law has one. Son in law has one. This one is the lemon of the bunch. I think it is often the dealer who is bad rather than the vehicle. Or at least how they deal with it. We were lied to and given bad info on this--such...

I like those but not the sticker shock. Pricey We drive my Toyota Sienna pretty much everywhere we go. His Highlander sits in garage until we camp. So it's hard to justify that price for a weekend or two a month and an occasional week. We could probably get a class c for that amount but i...

Our Highlander has the factory tow package, but it does not include brake controller or hitch.

We thought about taking it somewhere else to get another opinion, but as we drove it to the dealer, more warnings were popping up. One said, pull over in a safe spot. We felt best to leave it there. We are relatively new to this city and do not know what dealers are honest.

We have had weird things with our Highlander that now we wonder if could be related. The key fob makes the noise when you push to unlock, but the doors stay locked. The lights do not come on when you open the door. The hatch starts to go up but stops after raising about 4-6 inches. We...

We thought the bill was ridiculous, especially for what seemed to be a service bulletin. I'll look into the Ford Maverick. Wasn't that a car in the late 70s? I thought a friend had one and now Foreigner is in my head because she always had it on!!!
