A tree falling on the pup or getting stuck in the forest during a tornado is my worst nightmare.
We always watch the weather(radar) and pack up and leave if really nasty cells are forecasted to come our way.
Take some photos of the ramp door closed also (from the outside)
Depending on the latching system, you might have all the wall support you need by the closed door, much like the back of a semi trailer
Looks good! I upgraded my axle and also raised it slightly and sometimes find my stabs to be too short. (Fully extended and too wobbly) Thought about adding crank down stabs but just carry off cuts of some 5/4 deck planking for spacers
Never add a rooftop to an ABS roof IMO, and I don’t like the idea of it through the aluminum clad roofs either. A) they are flat roofs unlike TT’s so pooling water cold be an issue, b) the bouncing on the highway could lead to issues.
If you must have a rooftop unit, be sure to add under...
Everybody’s got to start somewhere. Took me a long time to stop over cooking things. Getting much better. Moved to a pellet grill. I absolutely love it and it’s regulated heat
Excellent idea. I have a furnace in mine, not sure how long it would take to discharge a group 27 deep cycle 12v battery and if the noco could keep up. I don’t want to run a generator either
Those converters should be replaced but I don’t understand your 12v Noco charger. Are you simply going to run off of 12v onboard full time and your park power simply runs the noco charger? (So no switchable 120v/12v power converter required?)
First thing I did was add a 2500 lb axle with brakes and ez lube hubs. If you’ve ever had 1500lbs of dead weight push you in emergency braking in rain…it gets hairy. You might want the extra insurance and easy maintenance
I really enjoy your build thread! I too have a 93 but it’s the Newport model. I’ve been planning to gut mine and ditch the kitchen too! Thanks for the inspiration, yours is looking amazing. I like the green plaid against the knotty pine. Keep the pics coming!
The number one drawback to a PUP for us is the lack of comfortable lounge seating.
Now our pup is small with nothing other than a small dinette. If I don’t totally customize mine, I might look for another with c shape seating at one end.
We generally live outside all day but want comfy space...
We were thinking of selling our pup and seasonal for a TT and new TV or MH but couldn’t justify the cost. Still got the seasonal and pup and will be keeping it because we want to tow light.
I’m half toying with the idea of building my own mini camper van out of a lifted Toyota Sienna AWD for...
