Hope you made it. We rolled into bovay scout ranch on Navasota around 1020pm. Got our tents up and gear stowed. Early morning at 630 to start the day. Already missing my pup and my glorious A/C!

Y'all have fun and eat an extra helping for me!

Glad you made it home ok. Tony had broken upper left arm. They took him to Livingston urgent care for treatment. He was placed in a sling to immobile arm. Tony was in good spirits . KAT don't forget about the tow function on you transmission switch back to normal operation.

its funny what my friends ask me about the weekend :
how did you meet these people?
you mean you only know them on the Internet ?
did you meet them before you went camping ?
you didn’t know them and you still went driving for hours to go camping with them ?
    are you crazy?

Katskamper, there are people from San Antonio, the Dallas ,and Ft Worth area. We try to plan rallies within the Golden triangle. DFW, San Antonio, Houston area. Some at private RV campgrounds but mostly park campgrounds. If you like maybe you could host a rally up in your area. We will come. Just not during icy weather. Txbum

Oh, being late is my bad. Thank you everyone attending the rally. Mary Jane and I are so happy to meet some new campers and of course all the familiar campers. We really had a good time. The different foods at potluck were excellent. I know I ate well. Thank you Robin for Friday night's arrival spaghetti dinner! I got to see Adrian enjoy his drone. Looks like he had fun. I want to thank my wife M.Jane for all her hard work keeping me on schedule and taking care of me. Love you Mary Jane.Katskamper a big thank you for keeping the kids entertained with the craft work. Phoodieman and Kathleen congrats on your wedding .

Seems as everyone arrived home safe with the exception of Tony arriving with his new fashion accessory.
Sure to get noticed as camping involves "danger in the wild".
Like the other rallies, always good to meet new see and long-time camping friends.
From Neapolitan cake to crafts and gifts, lots of fun getting together.
    Thanks from Mark and Stacy.

We talked about meeting up at Martin Dies State Park Oct. 5-7. I made my reservation as it is one of my favorite parks because of the paddling trails and fishing. Alex suggested it, but not sure if he can follow thru with Tony’s injury.
If you are considering it, please keep us informed. We decided on the 30 amp sites in the 300s. It is soon, but Fall is the best time of year!

i will be the “Red October” in Oct. no camping, no life for me.
I’m teaching 5 UTA courses in 4 weeks, including all day Saturday all month. even on my birthday.
    whaaaa.
but the nov. paycheck will be nice.

i usually camp at Lake Whitney.
buncha ACE parks and one State park.
McCown, (sites 1-15 would be perfect for this group)
Cedron on north side of lake & Lofers Bend West, on the dam.

i LOVE road trips, but i hate car/trailer problems.
i never have issues going to a dreaded event, but, oh let me try to get out of town for 2 whole days, everything breaks, blows out, or i get hit.
am i cursed by the demon of “no fun for you”?
i came home to a flooded garage. it had gotten all the way up to kitchen door!

TXBUM, pm me a mail address & i will send the tools back. or hold it till we next meet.

i look forward to camping with you all again! great cooks!!! good people. thank you all for letting me come play

    & now: homework.

got the truck back from the shop today - to have them find out what went wrong Friday night when it was blowing smoke from something leaking.

they “adjusted fluids” drove it, said transmission uses all gears.
    its good to go.
they didnt find anything wrong. no warning lights.

said maybe i was driving it hard pulling a load, tranny fluid boiled out thru vents & popped dipstick cap.

    ?

and the book says NOTHING about towing & overdrive.
i drove home, slower, with it off. RMS over 32. with OD, drops to 24.

my mechanic said to “drive with overdrive turn on so that I have lower RPMs”.
