The nice way to think about that someone forgot it when they needed their insulin.

We all know that's probably not the reason.

In all fairness, this was a commercial campground along the Guadalupe river just outside of New Braunfels during spring break.

And I have seen similar in campgrounds in Oregon, Arizona, and California over the years. It's not just a Texas thing...

Which makes the price tags of the refillables all the more attractive...

I'm old enough to remember buying the green bottles for under a dollar... Back in the early 90s...

It was the early 1960s. Before I was driving. Dad dropped by the station that an uncle worked at, and gas had dropped from about 22 cents to 18 cents. They made a big deal out of it, and it stuck with me for some reason.

I remember when gas jumped from 1.99 to 2.25 for the first time... and I sat at the stoplight in horror, just staring at the sign. As if the life was going to be terrible from then on lol.

So I went and bought a Flame King refillable. It looks used and considering the price that's unacceptable ... (almost worst than that is all the political crap that came in the box). good grief.
Are there any other companies that make refillable tanks? I'd like to buy from a company promoting refills and limit how many of these I put in the landfill. :)

Where did you order from? I got mine from REI, and there was no Flame King Box aside from the refill kit itself. All 100% new, and no political BS in the factory packaging. However REI has been sending me pro or anti this that or the other policital positions that have NOTHING to do with outdoor recreation. Kind of abusing the email list as far as I am concerned. Agree or disagree with the positions, I don't want my inbox used for political spam.

I ordered on Amazon. All the pamphlets came in the box. Probably the opposite of REI, lol, still SO annoying. ETA: I ordered on Amazon but the box was sent from SG Company, St. Paul, MN

I got mine direct from Flame King about 3 years ago.

Thank you for that. your link goes to Amazon and I thought I was ordering from them (through Amazon) but I guess I was hoodwinked.

Here is some interesting information. Apparently you can't order products directly from Flame King. I've sent them an email to get verification of that. I found that many web sites sell the Flame King tanks and refill kits. Many are out of stock at the moment. When I ordered mine in November of 2019, the tank cost was only $11.31, and the whole kit with one tank costs $37.34. Both had free shipping. Boy have prices gone up.
